It looks pretty decent, after number 2 I dont have all that high hopes, but looks good so far.

The Transformer is Alpha Trion, he is good, is a a father(ish) figure to Prime.

To be fair to the movie though, the premise from the trailer was kinda interesting. Man only went to the moon to get a look at this spaceship... but it does feel like a recycled storyline from the first one. Instead of finding Megatron buried in ice, we find Alpha Trion/Unicron/whoever on a crashed space ship on the dark side of the moon and there's a race to get to them by both sides.

I loathed the 2nd movie and I'm thinking I might feel the same about this one - Devastator was a huge let down and if this is indeed Unicron, he better do some bad ass stuff, turn Megatron into Galvatron, or give a body to Starscream's ghost before I get really excited.

Suggestions of it being Alpha Trion and/or Unicron, while palpable, are unconfirmed.

There is also suggestion it could be another of the "Primes" mentioned within the mythos, in particular that of (*shudder*) the previous movie. Best guess would be Sentinel Prime as he was the overall spiritual predecessor to Optimus based on the comic literature (where they also procured, and sorely raped, the character of "The Fallen").
