Which is cool, except that after Dues Ex 2 I have no faith in Eidos to make this one any good at all.
Prove me wrong Eidos... please? _________________

It's a Deus Ex game. That's all I need to get excited.
I'm going to be watching this like a hawk. _________________

Yeah, already have the steam version. Graphics are a little (well, a lot) dated, but the story hold up nicely. Awesome game.
I couldn't get into #2, so can't comment on that, but with news of #3, I hope they go back to what made #1 so good. _________________

The first is my fourth favourite game of all time. I've played through it several times. The second was decent but less open and the story wasn't paced. The 'spiritual sequel' Project Snowblind was the worst.
That being said I have big hopes for this title. Bioshock proved to me that spiritual sequels aren't always bad.

I've heard such good things about the Deus Ex games or at least the first one.
Though if I went back now and played them I doubt it'd have the same effect. _________________

First one was an incredible game, I loved it to bits. Enough to play it through a good half dozen times. Never played the second title though, I took issue with the fact that they concocted a sequal from a game which had three VERY different endings... maybe if Invisible War offered up three completely seperate games each revolving around a seperate solution I may have been more inclined. However that amount of awesome would surely make a gamers head implode so perhaps it was for the best.
The first tile (edit: yep, that first tile, in the first bathroom, it really stood out to me... natch, I meant "title", but you all already knew that) was really good though.

^ that's always an issue with multi-path games though.
i mean, look at most of the Star Wars EU games, they almost always have a Light and a Dark side ending, but they usually also result in direct sequels, where we are usually forced (lol!) into accepting one end as canon.
i actually kind of liked the way the plot was progressed into DX2 though. i liked the idea that JC Denton was given these choices based on what each faction thought would happen, only to have the reality not quite reach that outcome. i can see how retcon-ing it into such a hybrid end could be seen as a cop-out though. _________________

Wait, that's wierd. Maybe I should play the game. I thought they just picked an ending and went with it (I think it was the Denton "All-powerful" one that I read about, but it's been so long I can't really remember). Your brief synopsis tells me otherwise. Damn it, now I have to play Invisible War.
Probably the only game where i was able to get over the "two completely seperate endings leading to a sequel" was Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. It felt right that Kain would take over, the other ending just felt like a retarded copout (If anyone complains about this being a spoiler, get a clue, you only need to play the first five minues of Soul Reaver to know this happens. If you haven't played that game, you don't deserve to be still breathing until you do, it's awesome).

well, in Deus Ex 2, you find out:
DX2 Spoilers - and not from the beginning of the game.
that JC merged with Helios, supposedly to become the uber-benevolent dictator, but the action of merging caused a crash known as the Collapse which resulted in a period of dark-aged-ness, in which several groups rose to take power.
i feel the same way about most Star Wars games ending with Light and Dark, but having sequels. the dark side endings are pretty much always fan service more than anything, so it's easy to dismiss the notion that anything but the Light Side end occurred. _________________

Aha, so it was a merger of a few endings then, sounds interesting.
