Why would they cut the price when it's already the cheapest on the market and it's still selling like hot cakes?

Did anyone like me think about the VC and WiiWare 'Gifts' that it could also see Nintendo losing money?
Follow me on this:
If you can buy+download something on the Wii-shop, then be able to send that to someone else, i'm guessing that what your sending is the same thing minus the price correct?
So it means you can have it (being the 'downloader'), plus you could send it to as many people as you want, all the while you still have it. It cost you say $15 and yet all those other people (you sent it to) get the same thing for free. Meaning that potentially, the sales and money collected of VC games would decrease as people aren't buying the new releases, instead one person is and 'shares the love'
eg.
1) I buy Yoshi's Story for $15 {1000 points} (why i don't know, just an example ok)
2) I want my friend 'Bert' to try this game, i send it to him. He downloads and plays it, doesn't cost him a cent.
3) He likes it so much he sends a similar copy of the free game to his "friend" Ernie (yes they don't live in the same house ok, they had a divorce, lol)
4) Ernie after enjoying it sends a copy of it to Big Bird
5) after Big Bird downloads it he sends a copy of it to Count
and the cycle goes on, just there is 5 full versions of Yoshi's Story giving Nintendo no more than $15....
Personally i like the idea of receiving free games from friends (yes i'm cheap), but i'm wondering if Nintendo thought of the repercussions _________________

I don't think that's how it will work.
I think what will happen is, even though you're paying for it with your points, you won't be able to download and play it yourself if it's a gift. If you still want to play the game, you'll have to purchase another copy. The same would apply to anyone you send it to, so if they want to send it to a friend, they'll have to pay for the friends copy.

Maybe they should fix the friend's code rubbish before trying to encourage people to use the Wii on the Internet? _________________ Shin J Leon.

Once you download a VC game, that game is locked onto that console, and can't be played on any other console. So you can't send it to a friend to play for free.

You don't get it
Pay for game>someone else receives it
Its like buying one of them $20 kmart gift vouchers for someone else. You don't get the money.

I'm sure it'll only be select titles, and be a trial of said titles. 30 mins with the game per play or some similar mechanic.
I don't see Nintendo dropping the price any time soon, however perceived value will increase as stores bundle in a game/Nintendo themselves. This is atypical Nintendo behaviour. Isn't there already a Wii+Brain Academy bundle (albeit instead of Wii Sports)?
Edit (vvv): Ah thanks for clearing that up Joejoe.

No. Well not announced yet anyway. Nintendo hasn't said anything about the patent, "Play 'n' Learn" Wii bundle thing since it was found. _________________

They could miss an opportunity to attract disgruntled PS2 owners who don't get BC with PS3.
Drop the price and pay off a few publishers to get some follow on PS2 titles on board... That would attract some of Sony's 120 million PS2 users.

I am a PS2 owner, but not a user because of a Combination of only owning crap games and being too lazy to buy good ones (God of War1+2, SotC, probably missed a fair few) _________________

How about adding a range of colors for the Nintendo Wii? The Nintendo DS lite has four different colors in the range. I think it's about time. _________________

I reckon a 1/4 of those sales are from it breaking down in the first few years.

I wonder what happens if the person you are sending the game already has it?
I'm guessing they'll just receive the Wii Points as credit.
