While this isn't HIGHLY detrimental, although it was quite scary at first, last saturday my icons no longer appear to my correspondant applications.
To give you an example, ever deleted or uninstalled a game or application, but you still have your shortcut there? Usually its the default Windows Icon for an application that is not compatible with anything on your system. You usually get like a "Cannot find XGame" and has Browse options.
Well Im getting those, and while everything still works Im still curious xP
Here's a pic
Ok so here's what I sort of deduced, and I am no expert whatsoever so meh.
On one sunny saturday morning, with sleep still in my eyes and my net down for some unknown bloody reason..
I found Final Fantasy 7 pc version tucked away on my other drive, forgetting why I didnt play it much I decided to have a go at it. I double clicked the the file which I think adds FF7 to the registry and got a notice about it. Configured the options with the configuring file, then I tried the game, and I got a blank screen then back to desktop.
I pondered for a second and decided to hit the rego file again, same notice, and conifgured again. Opened FF7 then back to desktop. I slowly realised why I hadnt had this shortcutted on my screen or anything as I thought to myself "Oh yeah... that's why".
Anyway after that, I had my window maximized, saw MGS in a diff folder, played it for a while. After a while noticed my net was backup, and it was about 20 minutes when I had minimized a window to notice, my desktop looked like that! ^ (Refer to Pic above!)
So anyway, anyone know what the problem is? _________________ xfire = andylulz

Does it do that with newly installed stuff or just staff that is pre-existing??
If it is only applying to stuff that was already on your machine before this, maybe you can manually fic it?Can you right click the shortcut, properties, change icon, find the location of the original program and tell it to use that icon(if indeed the original program's icon is visible)? _________________
