First of all, they should make it compulsory to have a HDD for the 360 version. Screw the people with the Core console, go buy a damn HDD!
And second of all, I wonder how long it has been delayed. If it was due for October, hopefully February? Although by then we got MGS4 and Killzone 2 for the PS3, I'd rather it came out a bit later to be honest.
Still disappointed though. Definately agree if it wasn't cross platform, it wouldn't be delayed.

Saw it coming since the second trailer. Crappy frame rates without vehicles and NPCs.
Don't point the finger at the 360 with this one, cause remember the PS3 has less (half) memory and slower optical read times.

No one knows why it was delayed it's very stupid to turn this into a 360 vs ps3 thing hehe. Move on people  Lets just hope they make the 100% awesome for when it's finally released

No they never ****ing well said that. This is about the 5th or 6th time I've corrected someone on this due to the gaming media (PALGN included) knowingly misrepresenting what Rockstar said in that interview. They said BOTH platforms were providing their own difficulties. There was no emphasis or focus upon 360 problems, that was purely the creation of the interviewer... from a Playstation magazine.
edit: just to clarify, it's not you that annoys me with this ugh (how could I be mad at you  ) it's the gaming "media" and their poor attitude toward accuracy.

Actually (to the best of my knowledge) they both have 1/2 a gig ram, the Ps3 has 256 for sound and the other 256 for graphics whereas the 360 has 512 which can be split however.
I think the HDD would play a bit factor regardless.
@ Spanca....yea I keep forgetting the Rockstar rep was baited into saying that....true. Still I personally think problems such as less storage space and lack of HDD would be some of the biger irks a dev would be facing.....that's just my opinion however.
The one thing I know for certain however is that multiplatform development of GTA has led to more problems than Rockstar would've experienced had the game been developed exclusively for 1.

Im annoyed by this news, but hopefully that means more time will be spent on development and to iron out the bugs in the game.

I really wish they didn't make this multiplatform. I fucking hate multiplatform-ism. I don't care if the game was launched first on the 360 or the PS3, as long as it was developed for one set of hardware and then PORTED later.

Well Rockstar's next new IP is a Playstation exclusive. Obviously the install base will grow...while due to breakdowns, the 360 install base will decline.
EDIT: Yeah just what I thought:
"Certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected, especially given the commitment for a simultaneous release on two very different platforms," said Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick in a statement.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but Take 2 announced that the episodical content won't be delayed. Meaning that the epidsodes will be released quite close to the game's release date.

Just for clarification's sake, Chris's post was incorrect. I've spoken to Rockstar and their fiscal year begins November 1st, the game is still coming calandar 08 but it could be early in the year.

That sorta sucks, but if it means the game will be better when it does come out then I don't really mind i suppose, but it is a shame because I couldn't wait to get some next gen GTA goodness into me.

I hardly think this classifies as proof that the Xbox 360 is causing the problems. It sounds like a load of shit to me. Of course developing for two platforms will be more difficult then one, but for someone who only owns an Xbox 360 (and for the foreseeable that'll be all I will own, considering putting yourself through university without your parents paying for everything gives you little to no extra cash) your opinion isn't only mean and vindictive, but it would exclude a whole group of gamers. Not all of us can afford a $1000 console with maybe one decent exclusive game worth buying.

I'm pretty sure time will show you that the internet and gaming culture are so intertwined these days that even with a massive price drop Sony might not get the sales you seem to so desperately believe they will. I personally see no reason to buy one, what good exclusive games are currently available on that system? (or even being released this year?) (Please, someone tell me.)

Why are you laughing Ugh? You basically just payed $400 extra for something thats gameswise cannot stand up to the 360. When the PS3 proves itself then come back and laugh at him, but right now your just acting stupid.
