Pokemon Pearl and Diamond are the same 'generation' games, the difference is just there are slightly different Pokemon in different areas, different legendaries you can access etc. Minor stuff.

What eventually will happen is there will be a 'director's cut' of sorts released set in the same area as Pearl and Diamond, except with a few changes and upgrades. That's pretty much how the main Pokemon series works (with the exception of FireRed and LeafGreen, which were remakes).

So there was the first generation, Pokemon Blue and Red, and it's 'director's cut', Pokemon Yellow.
Second generation was Gold and Silver, then Crystal.
Third generation was Ruby and Sapphire, then Emerald.
And now the fourth generation is Pearl and Diamond.

It's all very simple.

EDIT (some more info): Differences between each generation are huge, each one is set in a different 'region'. Gen 1 is Kanto, gen 2 is Johto (and you could visit Kanto), gen 3 is Hoenn and gen 4 is Sinnoh. New Pokemon are added with each generation too.

What generation are Leafgreen and Firered a part of though? Would they be considered a part of the first generation, as they are remakes of Red/Blue/Yellow(/Green) or just a spinoff generation? icon_confused.gif I've wondered that for a while.

IMO, I didn't like the game all that much. It's ok, but really, there are better games out there. Personally, I actually preferred Final Fantasy 3, but that's just me

I'd say gen 3 since after the national dex you can get up to gen 3 pokes - it was only remade so you could get gen 1/2 pokes in gen 3 games.

Hum di dum.
I'm not here to post my favourite DS games currently. You'll be forced to wait till later. Horrifying mmnn?
But anyway, what I am here for is to ask a question. So, down to business.

Where's Nintendo going with all the Final Fantasy remakes? Does Sony have exclusive rights to any new FF games or, and I'm dreaming majorly here, could it be possible that a future FF title could be released on the Wii?

I'm an avid FF fan, but apart from that, I see no reason to buy a PS3, not really interested in the games or whatever, and I don't have that much money.

Crush/Confirm my dreams.

Well the new Crystal Chronicles is coming out on wii. I'm not too sure about the "main" numbered series though, possibly but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Back on topic, anyone played The World Ends With You? I'm having a lot of fun with that at the moment. And I also enjoy the Ace Attorney games.

Man I Love Professor Layton, its great....the puzzles are so invovled and there is a good story, I love the point and click gameplay, simple and invovled gameplay. Althought the puzzles are not so simple, some tough ones, but its a great game.

One of the most underrated DS games, in my opinion, is The Rub Rabbits!. It's such a wonderfully kooky game, but I think it gets overlooked because it's 'just another mini-game game'. Basically it follows the adventures of a man trying to woo a lady and keeping her, then fending off a rival lover (who loves him). Wonderful graphic style, great music, enjoyable-if-short mini-games and a pretty zany premise = a rather great game.

My only game is Professor Layton. I rarely play it, only for about 3 hours so far. It is pretty good, it's just really hard. Hopefully I will finish it one day. It's more fun to play with other people, so you can all work out the puzzles.

Since a few of the games I've played on the DS have sequels which I all like very much, I'll lump them together in one group.

1. Ace Attorney series
2. Mario Kart DS
3. Atelier Lise
4. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
5. Luminous Arc series

Professor Layton and the curious village is my favorite at the moment - first time I've played a ds game in that particular genre, so look forward to suggestions on where to go from there.

I've had a bit of a play with the ace attorney series, but I'm not quite patient enough for those unfortunately...

I actually own only 3 ds games even though ive had the ds for about 16 months.

Im really addicted to Final Fantasy Tactics A2, clocked up over 40 hours so far and only halfway through.

Final Fantasy IV was also magnificent, III i didnt even finish coz it was too boring.

So in my opinion, FFTA2 is WELL worth the $30 price tag.
