SO i log into my account last night to find my lvl 60 in the bank in Org, with his stuff gone and no money in his bag. I've had this happened before, so i'm more pissed off than concerned.
Anyway, I'm midway through filling out an online ticket when i get booted from the server. So now I'm more pissed off. But then my password wouldn't work on the game or the site. So now i'm a little worried.
I fill out the emial form from the main site as that's the only thing i can do. But at lunchtiem today when i was checking my email account i get three emails from blizzard thanking me for using the paid charcter transfer facility and that the transfers been completed.
Cue various'WTF!~?' exclamations from my desk.
Anyway, after finding out Blizzard consider their emergency phoneline less of an emrgency than i do, the only thing i've been able to do now is fill out a few more emails detailing what's happened and sit back and wait.
It's the general consensus that my chacter's been stolen to sell on. Has anyone else been in the position and can let me know of what may or may not happen frm here on in?
Cheers.

wow.
that seriously sucks.
i personally haven't had that happen, nor do i know anyone who's character has been fully transferred off, but i do know a few people whose accounts were "hacked".
i had heard their phone service was pretty crappy for those not in the US though. _________________

Quick update for anyone who cares (cue crickets) I received a very polite email from Blizz this morning basically informing me that for my lapse in judgement for allowing some hacker access to their IP (which they stole fair and square from games Workshop) they were banning my account.
I did get a little access this morning and when o logged in there were a load of lvl 1 characters with names like 'KJYGTT' on several servers that i'd never used before. So it looks like whoever hacked my accoutn also used it to spam gold selling sites and someone reported them.
What gets me is a quick double check with their support department would trun up that i reported my account hacked and unreachab;e before anything like this would have ahappened.
Anyway, i emailed Blizz to point out their mistake (without saying something along the lines of 'short out you s**t' whihc i really wanted to say, as they've messed me around way too much on this) and I'm not sat here waiting.
On the plus side, i'm getting plenty of BF 2142 action in now.

it's a time honers tactic of most companies... put the blame back on the customer.
For example... by brother was having trouble connection his wii to our computer using one of nintendo's wi-fi dongles... so he rang up customer support and was basicly told that his ip was incorrect and that he needed to change it... even though if he did we wouldn't be able to connect to our isp!!! _________________

well i'm sorry that this had to happen to you, i guess with wow characters it can hurt a bit more than something like gunbound (happened to my friend) since you put alot of time and effort into getting those characters up.
I doubt you'll get anything from blizzard so maybe this would be the best time to give up on wow and look forward to sc2 >.> _________________

i don't believe that.
one of my IRL mates has had his WoW account hacked 3 times now. once was when he'd quit the game for over 3 months and it had been re-activated for almost 2 weeks before he even found out.
the "it's your fault for giving away the account details" thing was sent each time, but each time it took about 2 weeks and he got it back again.
the last time was particularly sweet for him, as it looks like whoever hacked it had not only been using it to farm gold (there was over 2k gold in his account - in addition to his epic flying mount) but they'd also upgraded it to Burning Crusade, and had levelled one of his characters to 70 (unfortunately not the character or even server he played most often). _________________

I do reckon I'll get it back, but the thing is, i was keeping him at lvl 60 while i was farming hnour for the High Warlord's Pigsticker and Shieldwall. He was at 20% xp and had 150% rested, so it wouldn't take it long for him to lvl and **ck up plans.
On the other hand, i've taken up BF2142 again and I'm loving it. There's always a silver lining, eh?
