A poll which I'm interested in with the ever increasing problems found with 360s. A lot of people I know have had to send back their unit recently. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I picked no problems, because all of my problems were because of known problems with buggy games. My Xbox had more problems at this time (from time of purchase, just over a year) than my 360 has.

Mine is a lunch console and I've yet to have any problems with the hardware. There have of course been a few game glitches but that isn't the 360s fault. Rock solid and I am ever grateful. Probably just means when it does go wrong, it's gonna go wrong hard... _________________

I've had several freezes after lengthy periods of online play resulting in lockups, but as yet no Red Rings. Main issue with it is the drive noise, otherwise happy. _________________

Had it since launch. Not 1 problem! . Hornsby EB must have got a good batch cos i met one of the guys i saw at the launch night last week on GoW and he was saying nothing wrong with his either .
Although its starting to sound like a jet now..and i can barely get to sleep when i turn it off at 2am in the morning cos my room is like a furnace.. hopefully it doenst break cos i dont have a extended warranty.
My one is sweet .

Yeah, I've only had minor problems myself. My disc drive is loud as hell, and my DOA4 sometimes does not load. But gernally I have not had a problem. My mates unit just died yesterday. He is pissed cause it's a $200 service fee to get it fixed and it's just run out of warrenty. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Yes and IMO he should fight it.. I would not stand for paying $200 for repairs this far out of warranty..If he takes it far enough he will get them to repair for free.
My disk drive was actually rather quiet at launch..but now it is horrificly loud.

Only freezed a couple of times... I think that was from a scratched game though. Other than that I treat her like a baby _________________ Currently Playing: Bankshot Billards 2, Pacman

I've had the odd freeze here and there but most of those have been to do with the actual games, rather than the console itself I think. For example, when Test Drive Unlimited first released a few of the servers that the game uses were a little poor when they had massive amounts of people on them and as such the game would freeze quite regularly. The servers were fixed and some net code was patched in the game and now it runs like a treat. So yeah, some freezes here and there but nothing to worry about. _________________

I got the ring of death, although it was the middle of summer, before I had an air conditioner.... after playing CoD3 for about 5 hours. It worked fine after I reset it.
My Gears of War disc snapped in half inside my 360, I hear that happend to a few peoples GoW disc though. The game has cost me $180 so far.
I get the odd freeze, mainly when using the guide button alot. _________________

Mine 360 when playing texas holdem use to freeze in the middle of the game so i had to restart and i would loose all my chips because you couldn't come back into the game. Thatr really pissed me off but i think it's the game that had the issue because many other people suffered from the freezing. Either way it's good now _________________

Well my 360 is currently away for repair. I got the red ring of death 4 days before my xbox warranty was due to expire (altho i do have extended on it, so not really an issue). I bought the intercooler for it a month after i bought it, I'm not sure weather that did any good for it or not, but the intercooler died about 3 months ago.
I also suffered from several freezes, there was one stage when i could not get rb6 vegas to load at all, until i came back to it the next day and it was finally working again.
Has anyone ever got that error message from your 360 that says something like "this disk must be played in an xbox 360" rather odd... _________________

My first 360 used to freeze up on Saints Row, but that was due to a faulty disc. Once the disc was replaced it worked fine.
My new 360 hasnt skipped a beat _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

Well after I bought mine at launch....I took it straight home (in a car) and installed it in my room....and basically did not touch it since! I'm serious....i didn't touch the console after the initial install because I always used the remote to open and close the tray...and one day (about 4 months ago) it stopped reading all dvd's (except 1...Yoga for Dudes)...it would also have trouble reading some games some of the time and it would sometimes also put a small scuff on the disc. In any case I could see it was the disc tray being a little off it's track or something....sent it away....got it back after about 8 days (everything free of charge) and it's works perfect now. Still not happy about the whole situation but it's a great system aside from it's hardware issues. _________________

well just was getting comfy and was about to fire up rainbow six on xboxlive when it locked up, power off/on same again. call xbox service hotline, power off/on there they were the red lights of death... again.
getting it sent away for repairs, they were going to try and sink the heels in as i am just over the 12month warranty and i would cop a $200 repair fee... but they let me off... next time i'm going for the extended warranty.
ilet them no i wasn't impressed with having to pay $200 when this problem is all over the net and is obviously a regular occurence with there hardware, but they're happy to fix it now so i'm happy with the service.

Mine freezes all the time. It is a launch console. It makes a massive noise for the frist 5 mins after startup, which is the fans. The noises this thing makes are out of this world.
The majority here know that my first one died within 10 minutes of getting it home after launch.

I got my console at 12:02am on launch night and had maybe one episode of freezing on PDZ. Then about 8 months in it froze and gave me the dreaded 3 red rings of death. So I sent it off for repair and got it back about 2 weeks later. I went and got GOW on the following weekend. It then got stolen 2 days later. It got recovered via a search warrant about 2 weeks after it was stolen. I then spent 3 months trying to get it back off the police. It wasn't until I wrote a letter to Alan Jones that I got it back. After getting it back I find the bastard wiped my hard drive. There went $350 worth of stuff plus countless hours worth of game saves. To top it off he put a picture of his car as the background picture. It also isn't running as well as it was before it got stolen( running hotter, more frequent game freezes and noisier drive). The insurance company has aranged for someone to look at it. Hopefully they will say it's not worth fixing and just buy me a new one.
PS-I hope this never happens to anyone on here. It only causes you endless grief and frustration.

Yes I think they should. Or someone should, I don't care who. Perhaps the bastard who stole it should as part of his punishment. The worst part was losing my game saves. You have no idea how many hours I spent getting to about 1300 in world on endless mode on Bejeweled 2. Call me stupid but I actually enjoyed it, and yes I was going for the achievement for completing 280 levels and was on some level in the high 100's.

Gears stuffed up my 360 for some reason late last year and It was refusing to read any of my discs. It kept saying please insert a 360 disc. I only bought it like 2 months before so I was pretty dissapointed.. Took a month to get back but everything is perfect now. Thank god. _________________

I share your pain Bender. 2 years ago our house was robbed, and of all things they could take, they took my video games. The ps2, the xbox and funnily enough, the Nes. Thankfully i got it all back in insurance (except for the nes) but alas, the damage was already done. I lost all my game saves and hard work.
