This is, without a doubt, the single greatest use of post-it notes ever. No office prank, no other piece of 'art' ever comes close to scratching the surface of this... this masterpiece.
BEHOLD!

About the piece
Donkey Kong (Miyamoto, et. al.,1981) was the first appearance of the Itallian plumber we now know as Mario. While this game's early '80s arcade popularity predates most of today's engineering students, it represents the amazing results that a small development team can produce. Today Donkey Kong is ranked as the 3rd most popular arcade game of all time, selling over 65,000 units.
Currently this work is visible at the E2 building at UCSC, it is scheduled to be removed on or before May 1.

That's awesome. Way too much time on their hands, though it only took them 5 hours to do and I thought it would have used a lot more post-it notes.
But it's just brilliant . _________________

Well... lol, on Amazon a pack of 400 2"x 2" coloured PostIt notes cost $3.47. So 6400 divided by 400 times $3.47
=
$55.52 USD.
But it would depend on the size and stuff plus my maths might be wrong. _________________

The total time sounds like just the time taken to put the note up, so there was probably some other time taken to plan, etc, but pretty much any amount of time would be worth it for THAT! _________________

It really makes you want to go out and do something similar because it looks so good. But then you (or I, at least) think about how much work it'd involve and end up ditching the idea and playing some games instead
Although I'm totally going to get a shirt printed up with one of those fireballs on it _________________

The trick is finding somewhere that'll do a good job printing it, for a fair price. I'll have to do some research I guess. _________________

I hope he didn't buy those ****py Post-It notes, they fly off as soon as you get them. But still, that's pretty awesome. _________________

Man, I wish I had Post-It notes in my house like that. Even if it was I dunno, something simple like a smiley ace, it's the principle! _________________ Host on Australian gaming TV show Level 3
