Hi Guys:
I am relatively new to this forum and console based gaming as well. Never experienced racing online. Would love to join you this Friday if you have an online race and a free place available. However, may need some guidance how to join a race, etc. Newbie, I am also from WA and if OK would need to know the time the race is on.
Also, as a general comment I was at K-Mart last Saturday and saw the Forza 2 game for sale at $25.00. I was pi$$$ed off that the price came down so soon after purchasing my copy 4 weeks ago on the relase date. I hope this sort of thing does not happen too often with new game releases.
Cheers
Tony.

First off, what's your gamertag? While, if it is on tomorrow I won't be there, if whoever is running is nice enough and has your gamertag, if you are online when they are playing they can simply send you an invite which will take you directly to that game.
If you don't make it tomorrow night and you don't try it out some other time I might be able to give you a run on Sunday. But you can just go into exhibition race anytime and you'll get thrown into a race, and if you want the online credits achievement then choose career, pretty easy after a couple of times.
And was that price for real, makes me jealous when I paid $50... _________________

Well ppls, Im up for some Forza 2 live races tonight, from about 9pm AEST, so around 7 Perth time onwards. If you want to race and I'm not on your friends list, so add me "TruHyp". I might get to try my Fast and the Furious Mitsubishi Eclipse, but I better watch out that the double shot of NOS doesn't weld the intake _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

Hi All:
Firstly, I am embarrased about my post re the cost of the Forza 2 game at K-Mart for $25, I should get all my facts properly before posting. After reading your posts I became doubtful about what I saw (maybe I was dreaming) and decided to ring K-Mart to enquire some more. There was a sticker on the shelve stating Forza was $25 which was meant for the original XBOX Forza game, however, the game above the sticker was the Forza 2 game for the XBOX 360. Should have played closer attention I guess. Again apologies for the incorrect information, and our investment in the game is still reasonable I guess.
Re my gamertag it is DOA2XTony.
I was going to reply with my gamertag at lunchtime from Work, but an emergency occurred and had to go to one of our site about 100km away and did not get back until late yesterday evening. Consequently, I had no chance to post.
I hope you had a good game last night and please keep me in mind if you decide to play again.
To The Cro, thank you for your advise and I will try it tonight.
Cheers
Tony

Answer: I finish up my Live playing at around 2am, not start it. I'm usually online 8pm onwards, give or take.
Anyway, obviously I haven't been here for a while so I haven't been able to arrange anything. I'm back now, I think.
So is Friday nights still good for you lot?
---
I'm just under 90% complete with only the Endurance races to go and two other events. I'm worried about doing the Endurance races now though. No, not because of their length (I love long races) but because my copy of Forza 2 seems to be freezing a lot. It has been happening ever since the update we got a few weeks ago and yeah, I've had to redo quite a few races because of it. Obviously I'd be a little annoyed if I got to the end of an Enduro and it froze, so, anyone else experiencing similar issues?
Eh, even if it freezes in every race I'll still do them. _________________

Hi Nismor034:
I too experienced the freezing when I was about to claim my portion of the winnings from running the Nuburgring endurance race. I must admit to having to hire a driver to do this track as I just could not find a way to win at this track even easy mode. I have subsequently tried again after completing career mode and was able to win but only tried the 2 lap short races. The error message I got was disc needs cleaning or some words to that effect. I inspected it and the disc was fine, not a scratch or dirty mark on it, however, ran the game again and this time it was fine.
I also experienced freezing last weekend whilst racing others online. It was at the Nissan speedway.
May be of interest to know that I also experienced freezing before any patch upgrades and before I connected to XBOX Live as well. These were however limited to when I was in the garage and scrolling through my cars it would freeze close to the end of the list towards the R4 to R1 cars.
If you are online this Friday, feel free to add my gametag (DOA2XTony). I may not be much competition but I found that it is easier to communicate in XBL with people in your own country which makes for a better experience.
Cheers
Tony

I'm still fine with friday nights, I'll be on tomorrow night from around 8pm. Hopefully at least 1 person will come on to play, as no one came on last week _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

Have to be another time unless you come on earlier on today. I'll be out from 5.45 to around 7 Perth time.. and I dunno if I'll get tv time after that.
I'm either in bad form or the game is getting harder.. just not keeping my cars on the road as much. _________________

Well I finally got my first Endurance race done earlier this evening, after 4 attempts prior to that where the game bloody froze on me. <_<
It froze twice on lap 23, another time on lap 35 and then the last freeze was on lap 38. I was signed into Live on all four of those attempts though so when I tried again for the fifth time, I signed out of Live to see if that worked. Much to my surprise/enjoyment, it seemed to as I managed to finish the race. I'm going to try doing the rest of the races while being signed out to see if Live is causing the game to get confused or something (people signing in and out, so on and so forth) and yeah, hopefully the game won't freeze anymore and I will be able to finish it as a result.
If it does freeze again though, I'm clearing out my cache. As I said last time, it seems to have only started freezing after that update so I'm putting it down to that for now and if I clear my cache, that means the update is no longer on my HDD which hopefully then means no more freezes.
What a boring post this one is. Oh well, you guys are used to that by now. _________________

Man I'd be pissed if that happened to me Nismo. Those enduro races are so long I'd probally crack the shit with the game and not play it for awhile if it did that to me
I'm still slowly working my way through the single player. At level 45 and 80% complete. With any luck I should have all the SP stuff out of the way before the next batch of good games(Bioshock, Blue Dragon) get released at months end. _________________

Hi Han83:
have you completed all time trials in Exhibition mode. I am having difficulties completing the Tsukaba and King Cobra time trials. If you have, any chances of sharing your car setups.
Also, you mentioned that by completing the professional series, you would be pretty much 1000/1000 on the achievements front, have you therefore managed to win $1,000,000 online. How did you do it, thats a very hard achievement and a nice one to have. be interested to know.
Cheers

with the Time Trials, i didn't use any Car Setups, from what i remember i may have used the Line and ABS assists. this was a long long time ago, since i remember completing all the TA before hitting career, the Tsukuba TA was probably the hardest one of the lot,
the 1 million online acheivement is actually pretty easy, i went the hard way at first by racing B,C classes on any tracj, however the easiest way by far is by using a '66 GT40 or Speed 12 and maxing both cars out, enter either cars into anybody hosting a Nissan Speedway event, if you have a great setup for the Speed 12, you can use this instead of the GT40 incase if people dislike you using it. even if you have 3 people doing a 10 lap race, if you come first you win at least 13K
you might want to have STM and TCS on with these cars as both are very tail happy,

From FM.net
| Quote: | | Speaking of stuff in the pipeline, we just had our studio-wide bug bash this afternoon of our latest track pack (yes, it's the next DLC and it's a track with 4 ribbons) by holding a tournament. As usual with a build bug bash, there was lots of playing, shouting (and swearing), as well as the consumption of beverages. We plan on getting this track out to the certification team by the end of next week if all goes well. Keep those virtual fingers crossed. |
Woohoo new tracks finally.

Well, one new track with 4 different ribbons (read: configurations). It will be interesting to see what track this is and by the sounds of it, it's a real-world track rather than a fictional one. Looking forward to downloading it but of course, I won't be able to play it since my 360 officially hates my Forza 2 disc.
Also, I'm surprised we haven't already gotten a DLC pack with the tracks from Forza 1 that were missing in Forza 2.
Oh and all my Time Trial times (including the very high on that I had set on Suzuka thanks to that Aussie competition) have been wiped. Turn 10 wiped some of the scoreboards due to others using a glitch in the system to set their times and thanks to my times being quite high, I was one of the unfortunate ones who had to suffer as a result. I'm a bit bummed about that but I'm quite prepared to go back and set more times. If my damn game would work... <_< _________________
