I know you see these videos on the net of people completing games in like 15 minutes etc but these are generally done in emulators with the game sped up so really it doesn't count. So I'm wanting to find out the quickest you have beaten a game.
My best time for beating a game was for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time on the SNES. I beat the game in under an hour the first time I played it, so basically 2 hours after I had brought the game it was finished. I felt cheated My hard earned $100 down the drain. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

Well i beat the PC port of The house of the dead 3 in just over 30mins.
I dident die once, not even came close to being zombie food.
I also finished every level with an SS ranking On hard
But i reakon that the X-box version would be alot harder.
EDIT: Unlike Theanswer i didnt Pay $100 smacks for this game, It was a PC buget title that only cost $20.
But like Theanswer i felt cheated of my $20, especilly since i had this game on pre-order for a month before coming out. _________________

i finished Soul Reaver 2 in 3 days when it came out, although it's amongst my favourite series of all time, and one of my favourite games within the franchise, i felt extremely cheated.
i bought it from EB, so it went back.
i want to buy it again though, now that i'm not a poorly student. _________________

Metroid fusion under an hour, I THINK, I might be wrong, I know it was pretty damn quick but I had played through it with a much larger time prior to going through it fast. _________________

^ I finished it in 40 hours.
For big hours given for completion I half it for me - Tales 80 hrs, finished in 40. Zelda TP 70 hrs, finished in 35. _________________

After a few play throughs I managed to beat RE4 on medium (with unlimited rocket launcher from the get go) in about 2.5 hours.
Also finished Donkey Kong Country 2 in a sitting...not exactly sure how many hours though.

Only ones I can really think that I "finished" quickly were shareware games back in the day, although I don't think they really count
Finished Halo 2 in about 8 hours first play through, although that's hardly anything.

I finished an X-men Fighting game for GBC in about 20 minutes. There really wasn't much to play through, I just did the fighting tournament twice to unlock both unlockable characters and get the higest scores. This was in my first play through and luckily for me it was a friends game. It is a bit hard creating an indept figher with only a D-pad, a and b buttons. _________________

I've finished Resident Evil Remake several times well under 3hrs. I was absolutely obsessed with this game when it was released on the Cube, just kept playing it and playing it. I tried my hand at doing speed runs, but some of the times for this game are insane. Finished the game like a million times though
Resident Evil Remake>Resident Evil 4.
And I've finished numerous Metroid games for all endings, but never got around to finishing Metroid Prime 2 (boring!). _________________

Not one I did personally, but I remember a specific example in the twilight days of the SNES and Donkey Kong Country 3.
From what I recall, the final time my younger brother clocked in at the end game Cranky high score screen was 1 hour and 43 minutes - and that was with a 105% completion on the 'TUFST' mode.
Of course, there were a lot of stop and resets whenever he messed up, but damn is it crazy thinking there was actually an era where we all had the time to go through a game again and again - rather than finding time to start one to begin with today.
Ooh, and I also remember getting a 1 hour and thirteen completion time on Super Metroid - god bless the gamefaqs speed guides.
I wonder if the battery data have lasted in those old cartridges - those kind of achievements definitely were too hair-tearing to try and go through again.

Prince of Persia 2, like 15 minutes or something (although like efo it was due to exploiting a cheat).
Super Mario Bros 3 in a little over an hour I think (flutes). Only took me that long because I got a little lost in the final castle (stupid me).
Prey in 6 hours and 12 minutes (and that was me TRYING to make the game last longer).
Chronotrigger in about 5 minutes (New Game+).
Granted none of mine I would actually call acheivements but hey, to each their own.

I did the same thing. I think my version was a pirated one for the C64. It strangely gave you the cheats when you loaded up the game. _________________

I used to play a lot of minesweeper during my school days. Late night assignments where often littered with quick bouts of the game. I always got my work done eventually, but I swear they'd have been completed much quicker had I just deleted it.
Also, I haven't altered this image in any way, I swear. _________________

Lost planet(360) - ~6hours
Battlefield 2:modern combat(xbox) -~6hours
I was so disappointed with the length of BF2:MC on the xbox that it got refunded the next day, also I didn't have an xbox live account back then so that made it even worse.
edit:
Oh and Prey also...abysmally short and over so quickly. _________________
