I don't recall this thread being created before, and as I am bored, I decided to create one.
So, what is your favourite ending?
Mine belongs to either Shadow of the Colossus or Kingdom Hearts II. Colossus because its ending was the most beautiful ending I have seen, and KH2 because..well, I'm a fanboy But all in all it was pretty amazing how it finishes.
So, what is yours and why? Discuss. _________________

Halo 2, because it annoys everyone else. Other than that, I haven't finished enough games with proper stories to have a proper favourite ending.

I liked the ending of Dino Crisis 3.
Beautiful CG but the sealer was that I'd never have to play that game ever again.
Beautiful game,shoddy control. _________________

Killer7, definitely... completed it three times just to see the final boss and disturbing ending. _________________

ICO.
It cast a +3 dark assassin spell on my heart and then healed it with a love potion, within 2 minutes of each other.

Metal Gear Solid 3 ending (all 3 or so hours of it) was great. That game would not end! But was probably some of the best gaming there is. But I see don't see how Big Boss (ala Snake's dad) turns into a crazy man. I mean he liked cried and stuff? Why did he go insane?
Anyways, I still have to clock Shadow of Collosus, sounds like I really should finish it off.
Anyways, a fave of mine is Final Fantasy X _________________ Shin J Leon.

Portable Ops is set 6 years after MGS3, so that's likely to answer a few questions. _________________

Ocarina is probably the stand out to me. I've played many games with great endings, but Ocarina is always the one that springs to mind. It was just such a great game and the ending tied it all up perfectly. _________________

Deus Ex had three endings, but one of them really fit the story so well and tied everything up - the one where JC merges with Helios and thus becomes a demi God serves the story well, and ties in with the name of the game neatly. _________________

Hope you are correct, because they clearly made Snake out to be a nice guy (you know, caring and nice), and not a pycho death killing machine that is in made out to be in Metal Gear 1/2. Really doesn't make any sense at all. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I agree and totally forgot about WC3. I loved the Frozen Throne ending.
Also I just remembered Starcraft and Brood Wars. Real similar to WC3, but awesome nonetheless. _________________

^ yeah, i was going to add them too, but it's been so long since i've actually played SC and BW single-player, i've forgotten their endings. i had started through the campaigns again recently, but didn't get far.
surprisingly, i forgot the Soul Reaver games.
i've loved the endings of them, and i really should get around to finishing Defiance. _________________

^I agree that you definately should complete defiance. It's pretty climatic and answers most of the questions from Soul Reaver 2, but at the same time it leaves a bit of a cliffhanger, which is pretty much the usual with the LoK games. Still bloody awesome though. _________________

Looks like I should go back and finish Killer 7. Also still need a new PS2 to finish off ICO/SotC. All this before the Wii? I'm scared. Anyway...
Metroid: Zero Mission (I think David agrees)
Super Metroid
Eternal Darkness
Metroid Prime _________________
