Square has enough sense to make the game's ending not be exactly be FFXII's beginning.
Besides, prequels are usually used to expand the story in the original media, not add onto it like a sequel.

i honestly have no idea what FFXII is about, i've never touched the game, nor read anything to do with the script, so if that line revealed anything to do with the game, then i sincerely apologise, but i'd love to know how.
and unless they build some time-machine and head back to when this game is set at the end of FFXII, i don't really understand how knowledge of a prequel affects the end of the main event.
if anything, the start of FFXII is a spoiler for this game. _________________

I don't know I like the fact that the sequel to DW is on DS. It'd be nice to see some other series get full releases too.
As far as FXII goes the battle system is better (no interruption between field and battle... finally a RPG where the screen doesn't shatter.) however the perspective makes me think (and wish it was more like) Kingdom Hearts... though instead of mashing you just give orders.

It annoys me that I don't know of any reliable source to look up any game and find out if it has widescreen/progressive/60Hz options.
You'd think it would be something that most reviews of games would note... _________________

Just want to say that since most will be playing this game today, please do not spoil it for those stupid enough (read: me) to be missing out. Use spoiler tags, in other words.
Or lend me a hundred so I can play it too. _________________

If anyone is interested, the PAL FFXII cover and the collector's edition hard-backed / gold-leafed play guide from PiggyBack.
I had no intention of buying any guides but it was just so cool looking and the EB manager guy took 20% off it for buying at the same time as the game, and dropped FFXIIs price to like 75 bucks because he saw it cheaper somewhere else so... yeah! _________________

^ wow thats beautiful. How much did the guide cost?
The PAL version has a much more classy cover, imo.
Anyway this game is not getting priority over Okami. Maybe that has to do with the fact that I just spent 60hrs clocking FFX for the first time. Can't really see another FF game coming close to its story, and I want to soak it up for a few weeks.

Same as the Japanese cover, as always
The guide RRPs for $49.95 in Australia. There is a cheaper one which has a normal paper back cover that is the same as the games box, but I'm not sure how much that is. It's also a much much better guide than the Twilight Princess one we got, that was awful. _________________

I swear that I heard Aussie accents in the first part of the game, maybe South African as well.
I got the book too, and put the fly cover in the book case in a plastic bag.
I'm waiting for Datel to bring out some codes for ARMAX.. Want to be able to have a 'god mode'.

You need not a god mode, the game is easy if you aren't purposefully avoiding combat.
As for the accents, the narrator (Marquis Ondor) has a really demented mix of scottish and indian for his accent. Lucky him. Most of the cast is Americans faking one accent or another and its all largely inconsistent. The quality (re: lack thereof) of the dialogue sound files doesn't make it any better XD _________________

Q: i got ffxii (woohoo) but i found a problem in the graphics (well it may not be aproblem but..)
whenever in cut scenes or in the actual world there are always jagged lines coming of the character clothes or coming of the scenerey as the camera moves around or when you just see the person standing.
For instance theres balthier standing there with side on to the camera talking to, say vaan and there are these little jagged lines coming of the ends of his clothes
i dont think its a glitch but a graphical problem
its rather hard to explain but does anyone else have the same problem??
and if so does anyone know how to fix it??
i tried giving it a potion but it didnt work

It could just be your TV / cables, if you mean diagonal somewhat moving lines coming off of the edges of brightly coloured objects. I played this game for 80 hours last year and didn't notice anything like that >_>
And, above poster, I don't think there is, at least I never got one in the US version. And my characters were always the same level and learned every single spell / skill / augment. If Enemy HP = 100% > Steal (and then selling the results) and the double EXP item found from a merchant in a corner later in the game you can do this sort of thing easily _________________

If you mean the the edge of everything is jagged, then that's the PS2's lack of graphical power. It is most noticable on a big TV with good cables, as on worse setups the jaggies are blurred a bit. On the upside you get to see the incredible texture detail on the better setup. _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

I suppose she hasn't seen FFX then? The FMVs in FFXII are no better than the earlier ones, IMO. If however you were seeing FMVs for the first time, that would be an understandable response. _________________
