Looks like November is "Mario Month" given Super Mario Galaxy will also hit retailer shelves in November.

What I don't get is why release the game now, when the official Olympic Games are still so far away?

From a marketing point, wouldn't it create more sales to release it then?

^ it'd probably sell more since we're almost at x-mas and in the lead up to the olympics, rather than it would being sold close to the olympics and dying off as soon as the olympics ended

I actually think Sega are working on an official Beijing Game too, so they would be pitting the games against each other if released at the same time.
