Also looking forward to Caprica thats going to be absolutely awesome but I wonder who they will have staring in the show? It will be weird not seeing the characters we have come to know. _________________

Well how old is the old man now versus when the Caprica series will be set? Because they showed clips of him and Ty in their younger stage before Adama was in charge of the Galactica in season 2 so it is entirely possible (depending on Adama's age of course) that it will be the same actors for Caprica? Oh I don't know, I'm not as aware of the BSG world as most of its fans probably are.
Watched some more of season 2 this evening, three episodes. Was only planning on the one but it's too damn addictive. At this rate I'll be done with season 2 before the weekend is out. So when's season 3 coming to our shores? _________________

i think it's supposed to be when Bill Adama is a child, the main Adama's are his Parents/Grandparents.
so it's highly unlikely that the same actor will portray him

started watching Entourage last night, pretty decent, though with only 8 half hour episodes in series 1, it seems a little short. _________________

I'm watching Kimba the White Lion. Got the 10 disc DVD set, still sooo many episodes to go. Started off with Jungle Emperor Leo then onto the american version. Kimba's voice does get a little bit annoying after a while so I have to break it up with some Ren & Stimpy

what is kimba the White Lion?
Been watching the complete adventures of Lano and Woodley. I'm surprised that it is still good as I remembered. _________________

It's a cartoon about a white lion by the name of Kimba and his friends who have adventures. It's not bad from what I remember.

It was one of the series which really opened up the world of anime and for some reason I think its done by the guy who did Astro Boy? _________________

Fair point.
Well as long as the actor choices don't change the 'feel' of the Battlestar world in any way, I will be happy. I'm still looking forward to Caprica, definitely. It will be great to have another perspective on things. _________________

it'll be kind of interesting to see how, exactly, the series progresses. from what i've read, Caprica takes place 50 years before the BSG series.
in the chronology of BSG, the Cylons were absent from Human contact for 40 years, so i supposed logically, Caprica will end with the rise of the machines to form the Cylon resistance, resulting in "a long and bloody struggle" before they withdrew from the galaxy.
--
BTW: Nismo, have you seen the pre-series miniseries?
i ask because a mate of mine got into the series through the DVDs and didn't realise that the series one boxset doesn't contain the mini-series that kicked off the re-imagining.
it's actually quite hard to get now, though i wouldn't imagine a video-store clerk would have too much trouble. _________________

No longer working at Video Ezy dude so things are harder than they used to be now.
But to answer your question, no I have not seen this mini-series that you speak of. Infact I wasn't even aware there was one until reading your post. I watched it in the order that my friend (who lent me the DVDs) told me to, so that would be the 3-hour long movie and then season one of the series following that. Then obviously season 2 which is where I currently am in the series.
Is it important that I do see this mini-series...? _________________

Watched Samurai Champloo over Christmas, was a very nice series and also surprised that Mugen is the voice of Zoro in One Piece, which I am still watching, up to episode 172 now.

^ Ah I watched the first episode of One Piece yesterday. Its pretty good - the stories nice because it goes back to basics and dosent force you too think to much. Im going to download more of the episodes when I get my download limit back tomorrow.
I also started watching Tenjou Tenge which has been pretty amussing. Kind of funny because ive never been as much into anime as I am now. _________________

ah, i think in that case you have seen the miniseries.
it starts with a space diplomatic space station being boarded by the Cylons for the first time in 40 years, and shows the destruction of the 12 colonies. it's important in that it shows the beginning of the whole series, how the Galactica came to be the leader of the fleet, Laura (i forget her surname)'s inaugeration as president of the colonies and so on.
are you watching proper DVDs, or DLed and burnt ones? _________________

I finally gave the BSG mini series another go. I surpessed my loathing of a cylon that has sex with Baltar and actually found it to be decent. I might play catch up, but I've still got the third season of Arrested Development, approximately three seasons worth of The Sopranos, and 16 episodes of The Prisoner to get through somehow... _________________

The proper DVDs dude. I can take photos if you want...?
I'm confused now though, why is there a movie if there was a mini-series as well? Or vice-versa, even - why was there a mini-series if there is a movie as well?
If it's the same thing then why did they do it twice, so to speak? _________________

^ Well originally it was made into a mini series to give the viewers small tastes of what they could be experiencing if the feedback was right. Then they combined it together to sell it as a Movie DVD release because it isnt really large enough to be really called a series I spose _________________

no no, that's not why i asked (or at least, i wasn't implying anything by asking), i just wondered because i thought the movie/miniseries was explicitly labelled as a miniseries on the DVDs, but i just looked then and there's no mention of it.
i actually haven't watched the miniseries on DVD, i caught it on TV and continued through into series 1. it wasn't until the DVDs of series 2 was released, which was concurrent with their airing on TV, that i watched the DVDs instead of Broadcast. _________________

Watched season one of Peep Show today. It's a UK comedy so it's only 6 half-hour episodes per season (as most of them are). There was only ever 3 seasons all up so I'll get through them real quick.
Worth checking out for any UK comedy fans out there. I laughed pretty hard.

YES! Huff is back on tv (Tuesday's at about 11:30). Hank Azaria is awesome and so is this show, everyone should watch it. It's about a psychiatrist whose life continually takes a turn for the worst after one of his clients shoots themselves in front of him. The season that's on now is season two and it's even better than the first season.

The last few days I've been isck and haven't been able to sleep so I've been watching Quizmania. Holy shit talk about car crash TV - its so terrible but you can't help but you keep staring at the damn thing and wondering what the hell the top 'boys name starting with S' is.
Actually I think I know why I can't stop staring at it... Nikki Osborne for the win.
Also nice to see Letterman in a respectable timeslot on Ten, though it cuts into me watching Conan on the Comedy Channel, and I love that Ginger freak. Still, being able to watch all 3 of the major talkshows is awesome (though it would be good if Letterman was the most recent episode like Leno and Conan are).
EDIT: Oh, seems like it is now. Excellent. _________________

Recently, I watched the last episode of season one of Torchwood (the spin-off to Dr Who), and the Christmas episode of Dr Who.
I don't know which show I prefer. It is like Buffy and Angel. Buffy (Dr Who) is more light and humourous, and Angel (Torchwood) is more dark and serious while still having the wit. Both are good. _________________
