I just don't think there's too much worth watching that's on at the moment, all the big shows have their own threads.
Anybody else loving this season of Curb Your Enthusiasm? I find it to be probably the second funniest season so far, it's great that Leon is still involved, he steals the show, plus the situations are even more awkward and outrageous now that most of the main characters are divorced. Funnily enough, I thought the Ricky Gervais episode was the weakest of the season. Seaon Fnal next week so Michael J Fox is guaranteed to appear from the previews.
Falling Skies quickly became awful, I just found it to be too cringeworthy with all the slow drama stuff backed with soft music in every scene, not nearly enough action or violence.
Entourage is also kind of a nothing season, and it's the final season too. The Johnny Bananas stuff is just boring, and it just felt weird to end storylines from E and Turtle so abruptly, no one has really been doing anything. Is it supposed to lead into a couple of movies or something?

Totally. I just realised that the next Burn Notice is the last episode until November. On the plus side, it means the season can climax twice, and who doesn't like to climax more than once.

Finished re-watching Firefly. I think my favourite episode is still Our Mrs Reynolds - great mixture of comedy, drama, action and suspense. The deleted scene was great too, and Christina Hendricks was HOT.
I felt sad after watching Objects In Space, then watching all of the DVD extras, and realising that it could've and should've had another 2-3 seasons. This show was gone too soon :'( _________________

There really hasn't been a great deal on recently though.
but seems things that are on, are wrapping up, and i guess new seasons will be starting again soon.
First episode of Sons of Anarchy S4 is up, and started strong - but then i was a little over the series by the end of S3, so hopefully this will retain the momentum all season.
True Blood and Entourage finish this week - True Blood has, in my opinion, pretty much descended into becoming mostly a comedy this season. I've enjoyed it, for the most part, but i think i've been laughing at it more than the creators probably intended.
Entourage was pretty nothing, as mentioned above.
Breaking Bad has really been my beacon of good TV in recent weeks.
i also kept watching Eureka and Warehouse 13 from SyFy, and while not "good tv" in the same sense as Breaking Bad, they both keep me entertained. neither take themselves seriously, so i appreciate that.
(and Felicia Day being a cast member of Eureka now doesn't hurt either. )
and i used the downtime in worthy TV by watching Mad Men.
it's another series which i like, but don't really like the characters. it's soemthing i first noticed watching True Blood, but there are quite a few others out there (some older than TB, it was just in watching TB that i noticed this to be the case...)
also, it seems like AMC must have some clause that every series they produce must have an annoying as hell wife in it.
Skylar White.
Lori Grimes.
and now Betty Draper... wth guys?
Christina Hendricks is STILL hot.
can anyone here recommend Suits?
i've been told to check it out by someone of possibly dubious tv tastes.
(other than that - i just knocked off Wonders of the Solar System, and currently watching Wonders of the Universe - 2 BBC Documentaries hosted by Professor Brian Cox, which i'm really enjoying. and also downloading Tony Robinson Down Under, which i've also been recommended.) _________________

I've gotta ask. I always see people talking about True Blood.
What kind of show is it? When I first saw it I kind of assumed it was a rip off made for TV twilight and ignored it. _________________

Lots o blood, guts and sex. Having said that I can't watch it, it's like a soap with the aforementioned blood, guts and sex. My missus loves it though. _________________ I'd be apathetic, but I can't be arsed.

Watching the third season of Arrested Development. Funny as fuck. Just watched the Godzilla episode. So good.
Also finished Game of Thrones. Pretty amazing. Started reading the books it was so good.
It feels great to be able to download any show I want and not have to wait for TV.

Watched the latest episode of Two and a Half Men, was curious as to how they would handle it. Was different to what I thought, I thought the new guy would basically be Charlie, but he isn't, at least not yet. Not sure if this season will be any good, the pilot was only okay, but I guess I'll watch it to see how it turns out. Also looking forward to all the good shows that are starting soon too, not to mention the Doctor Who season finale

Double post! But watched Person of Interest last night, it was surprisingly awesome. The basic setup is this guy gets a social security number of someone who will be involved in a crime, either the victim or the person committing it (the show goes more ind depth so I'll leave it at that), and this other guy, who is ex special ops or something (which leads to some awesome fight scenes!) tries to stop it. He does this by stalking the victim basically, listening to their phone calls and conversations and such. But it is really good, I definitely recommend checking it out.

Finally finished Six Feet Under, after taking about 4 months to bring myself to watch the finale.
It's up there with one of the greatest show's I've ever seen. There are dozens of shows that are in my favourites, but this show is up there on my list as basically perfect. Couldn't recommend it enough. It centers around a family-owned funeral home, with death and black humour as a common thread.
The finale was easily the best conclusion to a show I have ever seen (although I still haven't watched the last 2 episodes of The Wire, even though I have seen every other episode 3 times now).
The last 6 minutes or so was just the perfect ending that kept with the theme of the show, being death, and how difficult it is to let go of people who've died. It still kept a hint of black comedy in it as well. _________________

If anybody has a passing interest in South Park they've recently released their first 'doco' since the series has started, called '6 Days to Air.' Definitely worth checking out, it just follows the whole creation process for their show, with the cameras following them around for 7 days before their 'HumanCentiPad' episode at the start of the season.

So I've been watching Small Time Gangster the Movie Extra original Australian TV show. This is going to mirror my rant in the movies thread about Snowtown, but this is once again my rant on while Australia continues to fail in the media department.
The premise of this show is literally Sopranos on a smaller scale. Except Australian, and being a load of crap. Grrr, I'm angry I paid for this. Okay, here we go into the rant...
So the opening seems promising. Small Australian gang, main character goes around and retrieves money from people who fail to pay their loans back. On Christmas Day, the boss of main character (due to lack of interest, I can't even remember his name, I'll call him Bob now) makes him do a call to get some money off a guy, that is one of Bob's childhood friends. They mention the amount isn't much, so I don't really know why the boss insisted it being on Christmas day. It just is. But then the guy accidentally gets killed and Bob feels guilty, which snowballs into him starting to feel bad about what he does and wanting to leave 'the business'. The Boss then has his son join Bob to act as an apprentice. The son...is one of the WORST stereotypes I've seen on television. It's a really bad impersonation. He's your typical exaggerated white gangster, you know, "Yo Dog" and holding his pistol to the side when using it (which actually doesnt work...) which further complicates things. To not spoil much, heres a list of characters and why I hate them.
The Boss - He's an angry old man cranking a Walter White beard. He's supposed to be this intimidating mob boss, but nothing in the show indicates why we should be scared of him. Because he looks angry? So what, I can look angry.
The Wife- The worst character on the show. Supposed to be this typical Surbuban mum, but acts like this selfish codependant overzealous 17 year old ****. I highly doubt going without sex for 2 days would make you resort to using a vibrator at the age of 40, especially with your young children in the house.
Bob's Daughter - Just like her mum, this chick is like Marty McFly's Mum in Back to the Future, in terms of how easy it is to get into her pants. She's with this random guy for like a week, then she's suddenly blowing her boyfriend in his car whilst she knows her Dad is standing right next to it. Yech.
Bob's Son - Forgettable. Just there to create a nuclear family. Some random guy offers a ride in his car, and the kid is suddenly fine with this, idiot kid. One scene shows the kid looking at his table, picking up a bunch of keys, going to his dad's car and (knowing exactly what the key is used for some reason) and pulls out a gun. The scene doesn't fit in with the plot of the show and is never referenced again.
Everything plotwise in the show comes down to convenience. It's lazy writing constantly. I want to point out more moments in this show but I can't be bothered wasting my time on this. _________________

I'm working my way through the second season of Community. Very entertaining show. It doesn't make me laugh out loud as often as I thought it would, but it's one of those "oh that's funny *doesn't laugh*" type shows for me.

This is what I'm watching at the moment...
Six Feet Under: Completed season three just recently and what a trip. Was difficult to adjust to the time skip at first, especially with the WTF premier episode but as it wore on it became the most enjoyable season to date. All the characters have been established now, so it's fun to see them all take their next step in life, especially Ruth who went from the least likeable character to one of the best.
A lot of guest stars made an appearance and for the most part, I thought they were welcome additions. Rainn Wilson and Kathy Bates in particular livened the show up - or at least Ruth's character.
South Park - Season finished on Thursday and personally I thought it ended on a high. The second part of the season started terribly with that Matrix spoof ep. but really hit some high notes with the musical ep. and the History Channel spoof.
While you can tell South Park is beneath Matt and Trey at this point in time, I still think it's one of the better animated shows on tv.
How I Met Your Mother - It's finally going somewhere. Season 7 has been one of the worst seasons to date with a poor resolution to the Slutty Pumpkin and Kumar being an annoying false romantic lead.
New Girl - It's basically the Zooey show, but that's fine at this stage. I just hope the other characters continue to develop and it becomes something more than just '3 men react to a quirky cutey'.
American Dad - Season started off extremely strong with two of the best eps. in the shows history but the past couple of eps. have been poor. I blame it on the fact they're concentrating more on the principal character who at most, is a one joke per ep. character. _________________
