I wouldn't bother holding off for a 1080p TV unless you're going to use it for movies. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I wonder if TRU knew of this, hence why they stopped taking pre-orders.
And remember folks, Nintendo said at E3 something along the lines of, "we don't see a worldwide launch as important." So don't get too hung up if it doesn't come out this year either. Though that being said, they'll make a killing now if they do get it out this year.

Yeah thanks Leon... I am interested in Blu-ray HD film and its tech in general. Looking to future-proof my AV setup AMAP - I've been using a Phillips 68cm flat CRT since '02.

Hold the phone, Nintendo have yet to release a single home console on a similtaneous world wide scale to date.
I have very little doubt that Wii will launch this year, the big concern is whether it will come to Aus or not. If history is anything to go by, i wouldn't be getting my hopes up until after sept 15 _________________

yer true i also wont be getting my hopes up untill after sept 15, but in the meantime Nintendo had this to say:
| Gonintendo/nintendo wrote: | Our wonderful Nintendo rep Allison has sent me Nintendo’s official statement regarding the PS3 delay.
Wii is on track to ship in Q4, Nintendo plans to ship 6 million systems to retailers around the world between its launch in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the end of its fiscal year on March 31, 2007.
Sounds like good news to me! There should be a lot of happy Wii owners this holiday season! |

I actually believe the PS3 is just being playtested in the household for any possible failures, i mean we all know the PS3 will have high failure rates(and the fact that you are definitely taking a risk by buying it at launch) so i believe that sony is trying to avoid a massive epidemic by releasing the PS3 to very few people, thereby getting possible feedback of what makes the units die or fail or crash or slow down or over heat or......i cant think of anything else. _________________ Silence is the loudest noise you could make.

Harvey Norman would have to be really pissed with the hundreds of thousands dollars worth of advertising that they've done promoting the PS3 for a November 15th release.
Can't say that i'm surprised that as per usual PAL owners get the short end of the stick once again.
Now if nintendo had any sense they would launch the Wii in all territories before x-mas this year as they are more than likely to make a killing.

If Nintendo were smart, they would capitalise on this. Advertise, launch worldwide by the end of the year and get the Wii known to public.
By the way, when did 360 get delayed, on which date here? _________________

^ Are you asking when it was announced that it would be delayed? Same time they announced that "worldwide" does not include Australia. They said launch would be US/Japan/Europe. They never actually pulled a Sony and went back on their word (excluding the final 3 week delay). _________________

It was funny the day after they announced this...
I walked by EB around opening time, everyone was happy (still had PS3 November poster/ advertising up)
Walked by in the afternoon, that poster & other advertising was LOONG gone! _________________

Sorry? How can you say they didn't delay beyond their original stated date and in the same sentence say they had a further 3 week delay? _________________ GAMEparents

Well 3 weeks in one of the smallest territories in the wold is hardly in the same league as 6 months, and in one of the largest. Technically, yes they went back on their word, but it's nothing like saying "worldwide, everywhere, including Australia" then bailing out of Europe and Australia for 6 months. _________________
