Alright! Time to upload some of my pics!
I've been playing around with my Gakkenflex, which is a DIY film TLR.
Here's a picture of it (not taken by me)
And now here are two images from it taken by me. They're not photoshopped - all straight from the film scanner.
Now this is from my Nikon F60. I used a DX lens on this film camera, so I got a nice darkening of the edges. Again, straight from the scanner.
I'm digging film at the moment - I just love its colour, and I think the grain gives it an antique feel.
And now pics from my D5000. Again, no photoshop - I'm not a big fan of it.
I used some closeup filters for this one:
So yeah. That's me as a photographer.
Edit: Sozzles, slight page stretch - resized to fit monitors. _________________

The fact that you applied no post processing is awesome. Great shots, the TLR ones are very interesting. _________________

Depending on what sort of photography you do, you might check out this baby. Lovely IQ, solid build and for $50 off eBay it's affordable enough to buy as a toy _________________

Wow the photos above look amazing, I really should end up getting a proper camera soon.
Here are some pictures I have taken from the last month or so on my point and shoot Lumix.
Anzac memorial in Melbourne:
Pray mantis that we found on the path at the Victorian Royal Botanic Gardens
Sunset at St.Kilda beach:
Pictures from our Trip up to Canberra a few weeks back for Anzac Day.
View of parliament from Red Hill
Turkish flag at the front of the Turkish embassy
Black mountain and Telstra tower
Front of parliament
AtatĂĽrk memorial on Anzac Parade
Us in front of the War Memorial
And these are some photos from Last weeks comic book day outing.
The staff at comics-r-us were really well dressed. There was a Captain America dressed in a full outfit with shield. I missed out on getting a good picture though =/.
Zombies! These guys caught us off guard and some looked pretty damn good, I was seconds away from implementing Zombie plan A (What good nerd doesn't have more then one Zombie plan), but a guy pulled out his mobile and decided to have a smoke which snapped my mind back into reality.
We headed to the Aquarium soon after running into the Zombies.
Below, Jellyfish (or nikack, whatever they are called these days)
The cute Penguin that was posing like this for a good few minutes

I didn't think there was anything wrong with publicly commenting on his photography to show that I appreciate his skill.
Sorry.

I think it's kind of cute - but regardless, I don't think Spancs was having a go there, just poking fun. _________________

Just keep looking I bought mine from an auction about a week ago for $55. One went on the same day for <$40 (with fungus though, so run away). There have been others at the same range in the preceeding weeks. You can also look at the f1.4 although some think the 1.7 is nicer and sharper at those wider apertures, and it's about $20-30 cheaper on average too. _________________

Fair enough - yeah we're not in the same room anymore Spanca. Besides, I've hardly posted on here for quite a while, so it's nice just to post something for once. Still a member and all

I still can't believe you can buy a prime lens for such a ridiculously low price. I wonder if there's any old Nikon primes that are similar...
Looking at all these shots makes me want to grab a prime lens to muck around with, thinking of nabbing the Nikkor 50mm AF f/1.8D. Thoughts anyone? _________________ My Photos

50mm 1.8D's are on ebay for around $150. Not bad. they're nice and sharp, give a good amount of bokeh too. handy to have in dark situations too.
We've got a 1.2D at work. i want to steal it. it's awesome I'll see if i can find some pics shot with it and post some up later on
Anyone feeling creative? Check this out. Pretty cool

^Since I have an APS-C camera, do you think it'd be worth paying a little more for the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens? Then I'd have a 35mm focal length rather than 80mm equivalent... _________________ My Photos
