I'm playing through it now, and I agree with your review. I didn't read the instruction booklet (I usually don't) so there was a lot of trial and error. I've had to redo levels countless times on occasion . I think it's still a good game though. _________________

It's been said that you either love it or you hate it. Either way, I can't object to a little bit of change and variety in a franchise - though it'd be great to release a more traditional Metal Gear Solid at some later point in time. _________________ I stayed up all night playing poker with tarot cards. A bit generous in my opinion, I thought it was pretty average to be honest. The game relies on alot of luck the further you get through the game (with some levels being impossible unless you get dealt the right cards), while the actual length each section, coupled with the time it takes to watch the CPU take its turn, takes too long and kills alot of the 'pick up and play' appeal for me that this game should have had. MGA2 is looking nice, hopefully that'll be better, but this fell well short when you compare it to similar handheld games like Advance Wars or Fire Emblem. _________________

You can press the triangle button to speed up the CPU's turn. It makes things a bit faster for me. I don't really see this game as a 'pick up and play' game due to the complexity of it. _________________
