There is a rumour flying around the interwebs, and like any good internet rumour there isn't a shred of credible source material to back it up. The source of the rumour appears to be this gaming site which states;
| Quote: | | RUMOR: Nintendo will reveal a new Firm Emblem title for 3DS soon, the game is called Fire Emblem: Blue Sacred Sword and Red Demon Lance. The game will take place 100 years after Sealed Sword, the story centers around Princess of Kingdom Bern and Prince of Kingdom Lycia, each will have different story in their perspective. The game will also have new Casual Mode for beginners and Lunatic Mode for advanced players. |
So, we could be looking at 2 Fire Emblem titles in the near future which is pretty exciting and while it is just a rumour, it's not totally unbelievable as Fire Emblem has been well represented on Nintendo consoles in the past and there's no one who wouldn't agree that Nintendo needs some pretty big releases to save the 3DS. _________________

If it's true then I think it's time I picked up a 3DS.

I hope it's true as it has made me want to pick up a 3DS even more! _________________

The rumour seems completely baseless, but a 3DS Fire Emblem game is inevitable. So it works for me. _________________

Completely baseless. As I pointed out everyone is referencing that obscure little game site and it's doesn't name a source, not even an obscure claim that they know someone who knows someone on the inside.
Rumours are fun though and fire emblem is awesome. _________________

I'd buy all the the 3DSes in the world for this. The odds of it being true coupled with the odds of a localisation are kinda slim, though. Still, Intelligent Systems should be doing something with themselves, right? _________________

You didn't miss out on much. It was inferior to the GBA versions in every regard. _________________

I'd rather they localise the second DS game first...
I still gotta play Shadow Dragon and Radiant Dawn though. _________________

I have a good feeling this will be coming over here.
Pity they changed artists though. There was nothing wrong with the one who did Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, it looks a bit too anime-ish for my liking, but I'll get over it. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

So apparently, this will be the first Nintendo game to be receiving DLC!
Ideally, this would equate to extra mini campaigns that expand on the core plot, introduce new storylines, or show things from different characters perspectives, all of which would be awesome! This is Nintendo however, so I wouldn't put it past them to just release a few extra characters and multiplayer maps and pat themselves on the back for a job well done.
As a huge Fire Emblem fan, I can't help but be optimistic though Hopefully, hopefully, Nintendo put some effort into this.
I still hate the overall style of the game though. The shift to 3D animations for battles in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn was one thing, but the 2D artwork shown so far pales in comparison to that of the GBA games. As plazma said, they look too much like generic anime characters.
But it's Fire Emblem, so I'll buy it. _________________
