Goodbye, for now.

Hey guys, I would to say goodbye to you all, because I have made the decision to leave PALGN. ( I may lurk every now and then though ^_^) This has nothing to do with what has happened recently.

The preamble:
If you guys remember gradually over the last few years I have become less and less interested in gaming, and have slowly moved onto other hobbies other than gaming such as cars, photography and being more social and as such my posting has slowed down somewhat.

Stepping in the right direction for me:
Highlights include: losing 25 kilo's, selling like 80% of gaming collection, forcing myself to stop buying collectors editions and not buying every game at launch. Each step I made one of these decisions/steps it felt really good to me and I think my next step is to see what life is like without having a regular forum for a while.

End of a chapter.
With the death of PALGN and the riots of the last few weeks, for me it felt like it was a good time finally to end this chapter here. I finally hit 5000 posts, which was something I was determined to do here and this was one of the reasons I really wanted to reach that milestone before PALGN ended. Achievement unlocked.


The Goodbye:
I've loved my time here, I came here when the IGN AU boards died. And got sucked in here for the gaming bargains and game exchange, of course like many of us, it suddenly grew to be much more than that.

This community has been the best forum community i've been involved with so far. And it does sadden me to say goodbye to it. I loved the game exchange, the fanboys, the new purchase junkies, I especially loved the dedicated rage and happy threads. I just loved how laid back this forum was compared to many others, and as long as you obeyed the simple rules everyone could fit in here.

And somehow I've refered like 300,000 people to the site (I still have no idea how I did that lol) If any of the ex staff know I'd love to know.

I don't want to individually thank everyone as I know I will miss someone and make them feel awful.

However, I'd like to thank sorta individually:

The PALGN writers & staff.
The PALGN Moderators.
The Fanboys
The Starcraft Crew (don't worry SC guys im still playing)
The Photographers
The Game Exchange Pros
The People That have come and gone that i've had big PM sessions with, IHateFrasierCrane, ANDYBALLINA, Grim-One, Itachi etc.


Staying on the Ground:
So sadly, my current plan is to not board the coming Rocket. However I may take a peek one day, and I imagine i'll still occasionally stalk these forums, I think it will be too hard to disappear completely.

Game on:
I still plan to game with all of you on steam and anyone in my F-List on Steam and various consoles when I do manage to get online.

Who knows I may be back come Diablo 3 time - cos ill want to play that with a lot of you then.

Love the ending image you left us on Ben, it's one that I was considering using myself! I can definitely understand your position and it takes a lot of courage to admit when you've changed and evolved yourself, perhaps even more in some ways for you since your own changes come from a positive place rather than a negative one, and you're not trashing your past likes just because of that change.
