Pricing is up on the store.

Sony titles are 10% less (Uncharted $63.95, Wipeout $47.95, etc.)

Others have bigger discounts. Lumines RRP in stores is $69, but it's $47.95 on the store. Katamari is $39.95.

Fifa is $69 to download. RRP is $69. Boooo.

Downloadable Vita titles are priced a little higher than I expected. Motorstorm RC is $10, Escape Plan is $20, Super Stardust is $16.

Somewhat tempted to buy all my games digitally, if only to eliminate the need to swap cards around.

Hi;

Thank you DarkYoshii and ZeroX03 for all your impressions, I think I've been swayed into picking a Vita up in about a month!

ZeroX03 - can you tell me how much better Tekken 6 looks on Vita over the PSP? I think the Vita has some kind of graphics enhancer for old PSP games, would love to hear your impressions! Thanks!

Damn, this is going to set me back around $160 just on games tomorrow. I want Stardust, Lumines, Hot Shots & Tennis. Might just try demos first and see how I go.

It looks A LOT better with the filter on, colours really pop out and everything feels and looks so smooth. I'd definitely want to play all my PSP games on the Vita.

Stardust is $13, actually. It's $16 if you want the DLC as well though. I'm very happy with that. The store pricing on the whole is slightly higher than I'd expected, but not too bad. JB have it beat on a few games, like Uncharted. I'll be getting Katamari digitally though, good price. icon_smile.gif

I've upgraded my pre-order at GAME today to the 3G model, figured it's a cheap way of getting Wipeout 2048 and I'm sure as time rolls by games will start using the 3G features more.

Day 1 purchases:

3G Vita (Ridge Racer and Wipeout 2048 "free" with purchase)
8 gig memory card
Uncharted: Golden Abyss retail
Super Stardust Delta digital
Escape Plan digital
MotorStorm RC digital

I haven't kept up with info about the Vita. Are games region free? Are there savings to be had by importing from the UK?

Games are region free, but the Online Passes that will be coming with games won't be region free.

Importing from the UK would still be fine, but you'll need to watch out for games in the US.

So single player games are safe but you won't be able to play online if you get US versions of games?

Did it have an online pass?
Are you playing with a Japanese PSN/SEN account?

As far as I know, most Sony games will have online passes, not sure about third party games though.

A great post on how to save money on downloadable games by buying PSN points from Best Buy Online and using US PSN account:

OzBargain wrote:
For my friends and foes purchasing the PS VITA this is a chart of the monies saved if you purchase
your games via a USA PSN account. The USA PSN download codes can be redeemed from Best Buy for approx $46.50AUD for $50 USD credit. This is close to 10% off already.

Please respect my post as it does offer significant savings. Please vote this up for exposure and to save aussies hard earned and overly taxed wages of iniquity.
Be warned that you must pay extra to pay for an AU online pass. Switching between AU and US profiles is quick and easy.

Prices taken from http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/02/14/playstation-store-...
Au prices from Whirlpool

Sorry the chart is ugly it will not format correctly. It looks nice on my edit box icon_sad.gif

title, $usd psn, $us-au, $au psn, $money saved

Asphalt $27 $25 $33 $8
Blazblue $35 $33 $55 $22
Dungeon $36 $34 $48 $14
FIFA $40 $38 $70 $32
Escape $15 $14 $20 $6
Golf $36 $34 $48 $14
Lumines $36 $34 $48 $14
MJ (badman) $36 $34 $33 -$1
Modnation $27 $25 $48 $23
Rayman $36 $34 $48 $14
UMVC3 $40 $38 $63 $25
Uncharted $45 $42 $63 $21
Vtennis $40 $38 $55 $17
Wipeout $36 $34 $48 $14

US SEN saving total = $244 aud

This chart does not include the near 10% bonus buying the Bestbuy vouchers
prices rounded off to nearest dollar
average saving of approx $20 per game

Edit: I think it's a good post anyway. No idea if any of this works or makes sense or anything.

I just made a US psn and browsing ala my ps3, but I couldnt find any vita titles, even with search all that came up were trailers :S The prices for the other stuff up there are awesome though.

Eg.
Catherine for $39.95 meanwhile, on the AUS psn, iirc, it was $89.95.

‎‎(╮°-°)╮︵┳━┳ ( ╯°□°)╯ ┻━┻

Planning just to go way of best buy, using my 28 degrees mc to save a fraction more on transaction fees. HELLO MONSTER HUNTER/PERSONA/ FINAL FANTASY TACTICS.

Also, I seem to remember seeing somewhere that it was actually the memory cards that were locked to psn accounts. I.e you could have 1 memory card for an US one, then also one for AUS/UK...

To be fair though, Catherine is a new release in Australia whilst it's been out for 10-11 months in the US.

True, but I remember reading shortly after that that it wasn't actually the case. I think Sony came out and clarified on the issue. There's nothing to stop us from testing it ourselves though, of course.

So... I just can't wrap my head around the decision to release a 3G Vita.

What is the point? Why would I want to spend $30/month keeping it active? Why should I drop an extra $70 on one tomorrow instead of sticking with the Wifi version?

You don't have to spend $30/month, it's prepaid so you can go for months without 3G then recharge when a game comes out with 3G features that interest you. I don't own a smartphone so I'll be making a lot of use from the Facebook/Twitter apps, Near looks pretty cool too. I'll probably recharge once to get the free download of Wipeout 2048, then switch carrier cause fuck Vodafone.
