Nope. State ownership and planned economies all the way. No one will be rich, and no one will be poor.
It will be a perfect, utopian future for the human race. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

If the beard gets much longer I think Half-Life 3 will support Linux. _________________

More gameplay, less writing/cut-scenes please. She fucked herself by saying she doesn't play games. And why does she care? She has a vagina AND an industry job, as she said. She writes crap, she gets paid. Who cares if geeks read or skip it? Silly human. _________________

I just don't care about this argument. I mean how many people would pay 60 dollars for a videogame with no gameplay?

Not me. That's what I call a movie or book. I usually pay $20 and $10 respectively for them. _________________

What about games like Monkey Island were it pretty much is all writing/cut-scenes?
Then again, my dad refused to play Half-Life because of the on-rails introduction but played the hell out of graphic adventures back in the day.
At all times, a game should aim to be entertaining. If you're not entertained and want to skip things, then the game creators have quite simply done it wrong. That should be the real issue here.
If the Bioware chick is writing rubbish that not only do people want to skip but also whinge about on the internet, the ideal response would have been to address those concerns, defend her stance, and take on board any actual valid and constructive criticism. Instead, one of her co-workers joined in on the flame war. Doesn't do jack to instill faith in the quality of future Bioware products. _________________

Truth about Monkey Island, but I mean less writing in the games she tends to write for.
Agreed that boringness should be skippable and that the flame war helps nothing. Maybe they just need better writers at Bioware? Maybe writers that play games... crazy, I know. _________________

Keeping on the topic of games, this is something that I would consider a 'must read' for any individual that uses the internet and/or plays video games. Especially those that do both.
Why devs owe you nothing is a little heavy handed, and I enjoy that, about why gamers (and pretty much anyone that consumes media of any type, really) should stop being whiney fonts of self-entitled rage.
It also touches on the growing trend of community collaboration in gaming, but only lightly. _________________

meh you want to make money, you listen to what people want, then again george lucas could film luke skywalker pissing into a dogs mouth for an hour and a half and make 200 billion.
For all the bitching and whining there is, those same people will buy the next pile of shit you release anyway... _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill
