Can we please tone it down a notch?

Alright guys and gals,

I ask this in respect to the former PALGN glory.

The last week has been a bit of a joke around here on the PALGN boards. I've had a laugh, you've had a laugh, even that guy in the corner has had a laugh.

But it's gotten a little out of control. People calling other people names, people threatening people and everyone going a little bit looney. It's turned from fun, to serious. Serious enough, that people could be reported to the authorities and get done for cyber harassment. No, it most likely won't happen, but yes, the potential is there. That's how bad this is getting.

Unfortunately, many of us also don't realize the damage we are potentially doing to the new site that many of us will migrate to when it eventually opens. The video game world knows about the issues of PALGN at hand. News articles have already started spreading from somewhat reputable news sites in regard to the downfall of a legend. Publishers are most likely monitoring the situation. They most likely know about the transfer. This new site will be relying on the old contacts from PALGN to get a direct news feed and copies of preview games to publish stories. If we keep going on like this, we will be destroying the image and relationships of former-PALGN staff, and the new site will not take off anytime soon. The writers rely on this relationship.

If we could tone the language, hate and well, everything and restore PALGN to what it was for the last week or two of it's mainstream existence, that would be greatly appreciated. We all know that Roland is not a good person. We all know that FalconDude is a childish. Now let's move on, give the last week or two a good decent, and then get off this server via a something rocket and chainsaw our territory into this new site. We never have to look back.

I understand that it is also hard, with the mods and staff getting demoted. I got demoted too, so we are all in this together. All I ask for the next week or two is the following.

1) Stop the name calling and general bitchiness.

2) Stop the harassment and cyber-bullying.

3) We get back on to the topics (and leave the trolling threads alone). If you want to discuss anything about the situation, discuss it properly without the chaos.

4) We don't make complete asses of ourselves.

5) That we ban FalconDude's IP from the new forum. Not for any other reason but he is stirring us up to create this chaos here, he will do it again.

Man, i'm really tired right now, and it's late so don't judge me on the text i've written, but read it and understand the message I am trying to communicate with you. If you disagree, I don't really give a hoot either. The point is, i'm trying here. Not for my benefit, but for our benefit. The Something Rocket staff need this, and your support.

I agree with Appel, plus, eventually this thing will run out of steam. We can't keep it up. Hopefully falcondude is gone for good and the others who have been stirring the pot will keep it down a bit.

But its me expressing myself. I'm frustrated with the situation. But you really should be able to see through it. You know what I mean. And if others don't, well, i'm sorry.

It's more of a, "Yeah, we know blah blah blah, but lets move on."

Seems to be on the down swing, all we need to do is start posting some non-ranty stuff once again. Then it can at least hover around an uneasy peace for as long as it needs to.

Let's get back to what we were doing before, talking about games, posting funny things; as we were kinda stuff. Most of the times we were posting content that went into news articles before the articles were available! We've lost some good members because of this internal strife, let's not lose more

I agree, but I still want to stress (and I know this is getting annoying) that there is no transfer. I just cant endorse this "us and them" mentality between PALGN and this new website. Nobody is relying off PALGN contacts, or trying to shift from one to another. It's a new website being built by writers, using their developed skills, and the personal contacts they may have made during their work in this industry. Nobody needs to do, think or plan anything. Just wait and see and go where you want to go.

I concur, I've loved this place from my first post and I still love it now. It might be nearing it's end but what's happened is done now. There's no going back so we might as well continue to be the PALGN we all love until the day comes where people leave.

Posting about the situation at hand and Roland/Discosis is achieving nothing except for everyone losing some respect for one another. I feel like all the "anarchy" from the community is starting to divide us from the inside.

Only way I see the forums going back to normal would be to remove all these culprit threads . Having them stuck on the top of the forums only serves to provoke anger. Also mods are now questioning there powers since roland personally attacked their ability. So yeah unless the forums are cleaned up alot more hatred is to come .

honestly I think this has to be the most polite and orderly decent into anarchy that could really be expected from the situation.

I mean we lost like 90% of the mods to a douche bag admin who then kept posting sticky's practically goading the community into revolt and the worst we got was some name calling and dirty words? I mean shit that is just Thursday on the wider internet.

So to everyone out there, angry or not, it's been a pleasure riding this sinking ship with you.
