saw a few best men the other night, same guys who did death at a funeral and was a big fan of that so i figured i liked this, however was still a bit iffy as films centered around weddings are becoming a bit over done. basically follows english guy meeting an aussie chick and proposing to her not long after meeting, and his three best mates cause all sorts of shenanigans ending chaotically for his wedding day. borrowed a a few ideas from the hangover, but only a small amount not enough to be considered a cash in, and stood up on its own well enough
like
- scene with best man speech had me in stitches
- a mostly strong cast with a few stand outs - especially the tall ginger guy, can't remember his name
dislike
- the chick who played toula in fat pizza - why do people think she's funny?
- most of soundtrack was cheesy australian folk music with over exxagerated whiny aussie accents singing along.
still overall a pretty great film, would give it 3 and a half stars

What's odd is that Ghibli generally appeals more to older audiences. The session I went to consisted entirely of young adults.

FUCK MY UNCLE AND CALL ME CHARLY. The Ending of that movie blew me away fucking MIND BLOWN. That ending is reason enough to watch that movie. Loved it blown away right now hahah speechless.....

My Chronicle cinema was packed with teens to old people. Pretty good movie. The whole found footage style worked well just because of the sheer amount of times we get filmed. Story even had a few surprises. Is it just me that gets reminded of Akira everyone a character has those types of powers.

Saw Serenity the other night after finishing up with Firefly. It was absolutely spectacularly amazing.
I am left wanting more though, as so many people were after it all finished up. In particular Book's backstory, the whole thing with the intimate knowledge of illegal affairs and no questions asked Alliance medical care. Would have thought he was a high ranking official during the Alliance vs Independents war or something of that vein.

I'm a big Ellen Page fan and when I saw this for sale I knew it had to be bought. What a pisser. Rainn Wilson is hilarious and Nathan Fillion in a role as memorable as Mal in Firefly.
So far my blind buy of the year.

Zardos
First off, this movie stars Sean Connoroy and he spends the majority of the movie dressed like this
Second, Sean Conroy is a serial rapist/murderer, and is treated as the hero of the film, and as an ideal of humanity that the sheltered imortal future people have lost.
Third, this movie came out after the james bond movies meaning that Conroy was allready an established and famous actor when he made this movie.
... man I've seen some weird shit in my time watching movies but this movie...
Ok plot.
So there's this guy named Zardos, he flies around in a giant head that vomits guns at people in guys in red swim suits and bandiolers who then ride around shooting and raping people. Then Zed (Sean) sneaks his way on board the head, shoots Zardos and knocks him out of the head killing him. The flying head flies back to the town of the imortals (of wich Zed is one of them, who has been tasked with keeping the savage brutals under control) The imortals are facinated by Zed because they haven't had any contact with the Brutals in 200 years since they made themselves imortal. And by facinated in Zed I mean facinated by Zeds penis. Because imortals can't get it up. Zed becomse the slave of a dude named Friend, they travel around and look at the apathetics a group of people that have been infected with apathy and can't be fucked to do anything like even defend themselves.
So zed tries to **** one of them, but when she puts up no fight he gets angry and throws her away, then they meet a bunch of old people who are the imortals that have been aged up as punishment. Then they try and get Zed hard at a science centre by showing him porn but he can't get it up cause it's not violent enough. Then theres... some kind of coup... and Zed tries to **** some more people, and they stop being imortal, and all the red jockstrap dudes kill everyone, the end?
