You'd be pretty ragey if you had to restart the game anyway.

The final panel of Penny Arcade's official Skyward Sword comic is now up. It's a nice piece of work. icon_smile.gif

Just finished it. Such an amazing game, I'm so sad it's over. I wanted more. Best game I've played all year, the whole journey clicked with me. This makes up for Twilight Princess which I felt was a filler title. Well worth the wait.

I really disagree about the filler/fetch quest complaints. I found the game to be remarkable the more I played. I loved the re-use of the environments and found that most fetch quests had a quirky twist making use of some ability.

It's probably the first Zelda game where I didn't feel like the sub-quests/hearts where a chore to find either. Everything just felt organic and in-reach while playing the game. You can tell an enormous amount of time has gone into getting this title polished to the max. Also you can't help but admire how SOLID the game is on the Wii. From start to end the game runs perfectly without a single noticeable bug or shift framerate. The last few hours especially is so impressive.

I absolutely loved the mini-games as well, some of the best in the series.

There was something about the NES Zelda here as well. It somehow felt like the style was a tribute to that game.

Nintendo Unveils “Zelda Data Restoration Channel”

So about that glitch in Skyward Sword that brings your game progress to a grinding halt. Nintendo has said they are working on fixing the problem. The company has formed a solution, and to correct the corrupted data have wrought the Zelda Data Restoration Channel.

Yes, Nintendo Japan has released a full Wii Channel to counteract the issue, which will patch save files created after the glitch. Players can find it in the Wii Shopping Channel in the Wii Channel section. There is no word yet on whether Nintendo of America will be following suit, and for now American Wii owners must send their systems into the company for internal repair. Convenient, no. Effective, no. Let this be a lesson to Nintendo to join the DLC party — the Internet is your friend, guys!

It's good to see that Nintendo are taking it seriously and have managed to make a fix for it. Took a while though.

Zero Punctuation reviews the game (warning: plenty of strong language). Click the little play button next to the time slider if you don't want to watch it in a new window.

The lead up to the Ship and the Ship itself made it my favourite section in the game, beating the minecart section first go was insane, just an absolute fluke given the speed Link was going.

Then again, I enjoyed most of the dungeons. I don't think there wasn't any bad dungeons in this game.

I really enjoyed the first dungeon. Probably because it had the most non-Zelda feel to it and I loved the design/feel of it.

Hyrule Historia Confirms There’s Another Zelda in the Works

The folks over at GlitterBerri sure are busy translating their copy of the Hyrule Historia, the Legend of Zelda artbook-bible. They’ve translated a statement in the book by Eiji Aonuma himself, explaining the methodology behind creating the Zelda games and confirming that, yes, there is another title in the works:

"Now, allow me to include some tall talk here: I feel that developing such large scale games as those from The Legend of Zelda is very similar to what it was like to venture into the mighty ocean in ancient times. Each game of the franchise has its own theme, as I mentioned above. I think that’s a system that no one has challenged so far and at the same time it’s like looking for a “continent” no one has ever visited. When leaving the port, you don’t have a single nautical chart. You only have with you very few crew members, and all the guidance is based on which direction looks good, so at first it’s like boarding and sailing a ship with an aim you don’t even know yet. Sometimes you just drift about, or you may suffer a shipwreck because of a storm. Or you may see what you think is a new continent, but when you rush towards it, you find out it actually is a tiny desolate island. And it’s then that you get lost.

However, as long as you don’t stand still in the same spot, you can continue to advance little by little, and that continent you aimed at will get barely within sight on the far away horizon. At that point you can add more people to your crew, and get all together to push forward ahead towards the continent. That’s a very fun process, so fun you even forget the times when you encountered a storm and you were hoping to get away from it. And if you manage to get safely to that “continent,” people around the world will surely get happy… That’s the biggest pleasure of creating Zelda games.

The long sailing time of creating Skyward Sword, a game to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series, has just come to an end. The voices of those who’ve played it from around the world reach us. We hear their admiration comments, and their criticism too. All those voices become energy for the next voyage. Well, to tell the truth, we’ve already set sail in a new voyage.“

Speculation currently falls in favor of a 3DS or Wii U title, and with Nintendo firm in their stance that motion controls are here to stay it would be interesting to see how this would translate onto their handheld. Perhaps the game would make emphatic use of the augmented reality features?

Uh... in teh same way it did for Ocarina of Time? That's not really interesting, that's a given.

Cause I can take that too ways.
A: No other outside company has done teh same thing we do
or
B: No one inside Nintendo have challenged the idea of each game having it's own unique theme.

A is obviously wrong cause Final Fantasy have been doing it just as long and have done it more, and B seems like a stretch when we've had direct sequels concurrent side games, etc.

Why I love Nintendo:

Dear Club Nintendo Member,

As you may have noticed, 1 of the posters in the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Poster Set that we sent to you contained a minor flaw. On the Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword poster, there is a design flaw on the outline of the loft wing, to the right of the sword. We apologize for the mistake and We will be sending a replacement poster within the next 2 weeks. You do not need to return the first poster back to us.

Again, we apologize for this error and we hope that you enjoy your new poster.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Nintendo Customer Service on:1300 362 746 (for Australian customers) and 0800 743 056 (for New Zealand customers) Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

Thanks again for your membership and loyalty.

Sincerely,
Club Nintendo

I've found them to be of high quality. The paper is MUCH better than the paper of posters that are given out for free at conventions and whatnot.

Though, I got them mainly cause I am a big fan of the Zelda games, if you want to save you're points for something better that could be coming along, it's probably the wiser thing to do. Unless of course you are planning to buy a couple more Nintendo products or have some sort of stash to use if it comes up.

I've waited ages for something decent to pop up, but nothing ever has. Maybe I should just grab the posters. Do points expire? I thought I read something about that happening, but it's been years since I added my first points, which are still there.

They do expire. But I don't know how long they take. The club nintendo site tells you how many stars expire at the end of the current month.
