| Quote: | | Famed explorer Dr. Emmet Cole (Bruce Greenwood) went looking for magic deep in the uncharted Amazon and never returned. The shocking truth about his disappearance is out there, somewhere, just waiting to be discovered. To the millions of kids who grew up watching his nature show, Dr. Cole was a hero. To his own son, Lincoln (Joe Anderson), he was more of an enigma. Now, six months after he vanished, Lincoln is finally ready to bury the past when Dr. Cole's emergency beacon suddenly goes off. At the urging of his mother, Tess (Leslie Hope), Lincoln reluctantly joins her on a search for his father. To fund the rescue, they agree to let Dr. Cole's cagey ex-producer, Clark (Paul Blackthorne), film the mission documentary-style. The mixed crew of old friends and new acquaintances includes the sexy and resourceful Lena (Eloise Mumford), loyal mechanic Emilio (Daniel Zacapa) and lethal bodyguard Captain Kurt Brynildson (Thomas Kretschmann). |

getting it now, sounds like its worth a try at least. Hope Bruce Greenwood has a consistent presence in the series, even if his character is meant to be missing. _________________

Just watched the double episode then. Really reminds me of Lost mixed with Blair Witch style. I didn't mind it wasn't as scary as i thought it was but i pictured myself there and if i was i would of been shitting bricks... _________________

Oh dear god... i think we've found my new addiction.
Edit: Alright, I've watched the two part opening.
The first episode was definitely better. I'm a little unsure about how it will progress from here. Intersecting 'old' footage over the current events is seeming a little uneven, and is pushing the found footage style they're going for. I was hoping we'd be seeing more from the hidden tapes each episode. But i think i'll stick the season out. _________________

After watching the first 2 episodes
SPOILERS AHEAD
I have a fear and it may sound stupid but more people need to start dieing instead of doing something and getting saved.. For me this show needs to be more scary and yeah as i said more people need to die... I really hope it ends with a only survivor or something but i really don't see it happening.. _________________

They don't have a big enough cast to do that. My worry is it won't have enough momentum to run for more then one or two seasons.
If they are going to start killing people off, they'll need a revolving door cast, and most of who they have aren't expendable, not yet anyway. So if they are going to do that, they'll have to come across a stranded group, hostages or Militia to refile the ranks and take over roles.

I mean, lets look at the cast.
You kill the producer/director, there's no point to push the found footage style any further, you kill the camera man, people aren't going to bother setting up camera's when they are on land (unless they use it for security). The ex-military/navy guy has a handler and a mystery behind him, he has to stay to build a suspense and a threat within.
Engineer/mechanic can't other wise the boat would be inoperable by the next episode, even if his daughter can assist him. She can't as she's the 'link'/conduit to the supernatural, the Girl/techie can't die as they've just made her incredibly important as the 'chosen one'.
The most expendable people are the Son and Wife.

I've seen different kinds of "quest to find someone lost" movies but I admit this one's a bit intriguing. I, too, want to know why Dr. Cole disappeared. But I'm sure that if they will be able to find him, it will be a great family reunion...if it happens, that's when regret enters into me for watching it.
