Beat it! Got a whooping 0 stars for the last boss, it took me 30 minutes hahaha. Think the whole game took me 30ish hours, I did a few sidequests but not all. This was a very good sequel, I am probably biased because I love time travel, but people really need to give this a chance before going "omg cheap cash in, it sucks"
IMO it was great, the villain could even rival Sephiroth. _________________

Yeah, as a reader and writer of Sci-Fi, I'm a bit of a fan of time travel stories. FFXIII-2's story really hit the spot in that regard, I found it fascinating travelling to different times and seeing how much the places had changed.
Edit: @Benza: I like Caius as a villain, but no, One-Winged Angel will not be topped so easily! _________________

Well Caius himself had a far better story and a better goal then the ol' Sephy I reckon, but as for theme songs, no _________________

Yeah, what I like about Caius is that deep down, he's actually a pretty likable character, unlike Sephy. That added a good layer to his role as the antagonist. _________________

We don't need the game exchange to tell the truth. We could just make a thread, sticky it, and people within can post up what they have for sale or want. It's not the most efficient method but it will do. Plus, noone but us members holding on till the last breath even come to PALGN these days, so it would likely be only trades between known members.

Ok, I finally got the Serendipitous trophy. A quick note for anyone else who tries it: You have to win all 10,000 coins in one sitting. Reloading the game or returning to the Historia Crux will reset the counter. Once you've won the 10,000 (if you're using the slot machines), don't just sit there, you need to leave the machine - then the trophy will pop a few seconds later. _________________

Platinum time! Well, that didn't take too long in the end. It's a good feeling when you see that last trophy unlock, that's for sure! _________________

They're very easy, you don't even need to complete the Crystarium. If you can beat the last boss, then you should be able to at least take out Atlas and Caius's Paradox Form (in Oerba). _________________

Sephiroth isn't a clone.

Yes, but is the story buried in an encyclopedia this time, or have the actually managed to deliver it in-game this time? _________________

It's all in the game this time, I didn't look at the Datalog even once during the story. Of course, there's still some interesting info in there of course, but it's not neccessary. _________________

Managed to catch the Flanitor last night... Someone mentioned earlier in this thread they were having issues but it only took me about 20 minutes of actually trying. I've heard it's the 2nd best medic in the game behind the Green Chocobo so I'm happy to have it available at a relatively early stage in the game. _________________

I didn't mention it, but when I went searching for it, it didn't ever spawn. But when I stopped looking for it, they wouldn't leave me alone!
I beat the game with a green chocobo, a good sen which looks like a giant armadillo and a pretty strong com with 750 attack. Hopefully they are enough to get all the paradox endings because I'm not too keen on grinding. Level 4 potent items are hard to find! _________________

750 attack is good, but having a Sentinel monster is unnecessary 90% of the time. I used a RAV/COM/MED set of monster to do almost everything, and it's very effective. What I recommend is going to the Steppe and picking up a Cloudburst monster. They can be found in the trench near the southern gate during Cloudy weather. They're the strongest Ravagers in the game, and also have the fastest spell casting speed - which makes them great for chaining. At max level, they have a magic stat of 1200, and deal amazing damage. Just make sure to only use Mana type materials on it though, it shouldn't cost you too much.
That said, beating the paradox ending monsters is pretty easy, I did it without Cloudburst. I certainly needed one when it came to beating Yomi though! _________________

I'm actually surprised there aren't any second hand copies of this up on the usual places by now. There were heaps a week after FFXIII came out.

It's a good game, perhaps people are planning to keep their copies this time. There's also the "To be continued" ending to take into account, some people will hang onto the game so that they can get the DLC.
Anyway, just a quick heads up that the Lightning & Amodar DLC is now availabe on the SEN Store. You can find it under the "New This Week" section. It's priced very fairly, at $3.50. _________________

I've heard Lightning is a kick-ass ravager. I wonder how hard/easy she'll be to beat in the colosseum... _________________

Yeah, she looks like a pretty good Ravager. I just fought the two of them in Colisseum and beat them twice, got Amodar on the first go. As for difficulty, I'd say they're a little easier to beat than Omega Weapon. So, not particularly hard. _________________
