Man at times I wish I had the patience or was a born a bit earlier and could of gotten a lot more into comics because hearing you guys talk about them they seem to be a lot less broken then I thought them to be.
Also got to admit, Loki is by far one of my favourite villains out of any superhero movie. His the silent type of character and is so much more capable of causing **** to happen then nearly any other villain I can think of. I also liked Whiplash in Iron Man 2, however most villains in other movies are just entirely forgettable. (Not sure how these characters hold up in the comics)

I've barely read a comic in my life, but I've read up on the Marvel ones quite a bit. The stories are pretty interesting, but trying to keep track of all the crazy stuff that has gone on over the years would be quite a challenge! There's different versions of Earth, various timelines, dimensions, you name it. _________________

That's the great thing about the Marvel universe, or any universe for that matter. Because you can have so many spin-offs and alternate realities, it opens things out to see various characters in very different and unusual lights (see the recent Noir series, or Neil Gaiman's 1602, and of course the Ultimates series).

It's honestly not as hard as you'd think. Just pick a character you like, find out where the last story arc started and start reading. You really have to let go of the drive to know the full story though because at the end of the day it just doesn't matter that much.
That or start reading DC comics, they rebooted everything in September with all there comics (Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman, Green Lantern etc) starting again at Issue 1. So you're like 2 issues behind at most. _________________

Oh they're broken (hello Sentry) but the focus is becoming less on the breaking and more on trying to "normalise" it since about... bah don't fail me now memory, but probably 4 years ago? As you had a pseudo reboot (as opposed to DC's hard reboots) where a hell of a lot were killed off and/or dwindled that it now seems like it's found its "happy medium" without the flashy showing off as ages past.
Really for me, the only convoluted mess of books still remains with the X-Men, mainly because Wolverine is a whore.

I still think Captain America doesn't look right compared to the rest of the cast. They should have maintained the army style of the WWII uniform a little more, made it seem more like a piece of battle armour than a Power Rangers outfit. *shrugs* I'll get over it eventually, but for now it just doesn't seem right.

Not to highjack the thread, but I tried watching Captain America the other night and just couldn't get into it. 40 minutes in and I turned it off.

I haven't seen Cap yet but I felt the same about Thor.
Avengers has got Iron Man / Robert Downey Jr in it though, so it should be good! _________________

Thor's underrated, fun little flick and a good intro to the character for the screen. Cap was good but I felt it went on too long.

Thor is actually my favourite of the major avenger movies, haven't seen the Incredible Hulk though.

Cap was probbably my faviourte after the first Ironman. Then Hulk Then Thor.
I'm a little dissapointed that Cap didn't fight like Blonsky though, although I did dig the fact that the fights in cap were done to look like a cheesy old movie.
Hopefully he moves more like Blonsky in avengers. _________________

How did you feel about Iron Man 2 Benza? I thought the villain was one of the best I have seen in a movie. But I think they just did too much stupid shit which brought it down, like the briefcase suit and such.

The briefcase suit has been a part of ironman for ever
I enjoyed it, but I thought the middel Avengers plot kind of dragged, and Gendy Tartavosky (Guy that coreographed the fight sequences) was wasted.
That said, Sam Rockwell as Hammer fucking made that movie. More so then RDJ, Sam Rockwell should be in every movie ever. Prefferably dancing.

When Iron Man 2 became a hit, that's when reports about The Avengers started to grow. If it were not because I was damn satisfied watching the modern Iron Man movies, I shouldn't have been convinced to watch The Avengers.
The truth is, it sucks when producers try to stuff movies with lots of popular characters or stars. The Avengers is just like The Expendables... both have a thing in common; they suck!

What? Avengers was top notch. It was one of the best comic book movies ever made. Joss Whedon does what he does best, make a great ensemble film without leaving any characters out.

I just can't agree with you on this one. For a comic book fan who have read and known almost all characters, The Avengers movie is not a surprise at all. I have watched movies of each character and for everyone who did, too, this movie is so predictable. The director did the job well, the producers and writers are the ones who suck big time. The plot is never new and you could almost predict every scene considering you already know the power/capabilities of each character.
