Cheerrssss. Yeah I figured I'd go for a much darker tone on the power armour instead of fancy pants super silver. I might do it to a few GK's and hell, might go pure white on a few, but yeah the dark blueish tinge is cool. I just need to get used to thinning right and getting smooth layers again. So rusty after 7 years haha, but thankfully my teachings in other mediums is giving me a nice boost.

Yeah, Grey Knights USED to be all metal; now all the new codex stuff is resin which is great, because metal is shit. From what I know all models from now on are moving to resin, so good times ahoy.

Yeah the eyes I'd love to add more detail in but at the moment I lack the proper brushes for it; mine's a little too thick to get accurate eyes. With that said they look alright for the moment, only issue is I don't have a proper camera around right now so I'm only using my cruddy camera phone.

And nah, likely going to just paint and display. The game's cool but I have Dawn of War to satiate my hunger for battle.

Okay I went and dug up one of my figures....

Here he is. He's 'finished' overall but needs a bit of touching up here and there.

Probably not the best angle to show the eyes but I seriously took all of 30 pictures trying to get one this good and not 'blurry' The insides are more of a fluoro green and the outsides more of a dark green.

Also browsing on my computer I found this picture from a while back. Eyes are pretty crap but I was happyish with the chaos black wash I gave it. Perhaps a touch on the heavy side though.

I'm not that much of a painter. More the battle side of things. 85% of my figures are unpainted. I've promised myself to get back into it hardcore when Year 12 is over though.

Update!

3 of my 5 Grey Knights done. Decided to do the commander with a more silver look, and going to do the rest of the space marines a blueish silver.

Bit annoyed with the centre one because the protective coating damaged some of the paint job slightly, but nonetheless still happy.

Do they have more interesting colours for models, such as hot pink?

How does Warhammer work when played?

Is it similar to Heroes Quest and the old school pen and paper RPGs?

I can't tell you personally, as I don't actually play the game itself, mainly just paint and collect as I love to paint.

From what I know it's based heavily on dice rolls, unit statistics and army points.

But do you have to go according to their actual colours? Couldn't you do blue horrors and an army of hot pink soldiers?

Of course, go crazy with any colours if you have no interest in the lore. Example:

I dig the lore so I paint along some of its guidelines, but my blue marine dudes are not supposed to be that blue at all.

But hey I don't care, bluey silver is bad-ass.

Been like a year since I've actually done a digital painting. So it felt good going back to it. This took about an hour, just splodged stuff onto the canvas.

Once again, StarCraft related because I love painting stuff from StarCraft.

I have to agree. I never use the traditional these when painting warhammer models.

I have never seen the Chaos Warriors hot pink, buut I have seen them done with a pink highlight colour. So they were painted black, silver and gunmetal as a base, then had all the detailing in pink.

I did some Dark Elves aqua and orange, made them look like jungle amazons.

Anyways i sort of ran with that.

Everyone is so talented, those were painted up really well.

I haven't done any drawing in a long while. So, in an effort to relax and feel more like myself, I decided to try and draw one of my favourite video game characters. Still have a ways to go, but she is coming along nicely.
