Picked up my copy of this yesterday. At least they got the spelling right on the PAL version, so we're off to a good start.
Very impressed so far. Definite return to form for the franchise, the best since RE4 in my book.
Sound design is great, defintely try and play this with headphones. And in the dark, if you can manage it.
Moving while shooting is a thing, but seems quite awkward at first. Not sure if it will actually be of any use, but we shall see. I don't know what difference the circle pad pro makes, might have to pick one up tomorrow.
I had a bunch of other well formed thoughts on the subject, but left them in my other pants, so it will have to wait until later.

Previously, in the Resident Evil Revelations thread...

Well, it seems to make a big difference. I just started episode 3, which seems to be more action orientated (as opposed to the more traditional survival horror style of previous episodes) and it makes moving while shooting much easier. Not to mention making the 3DS much more comfortable to hold.

I have such a polarised opinion on the circle pro pad. On one hand, it really gives RE: REV that extra bit of customisation needed to make the controls feel really nice. But the extra 2 buttons and the 2nd control slider should of been in the 3DS in the first place. No doubt the 2nd revision of the 3DS will probably contain it. (I wonder how 3DS Ambassadors will work with this).
Comfortable and not at the same time. The 3DS becomes unwieldy and the weight is heavier on the left hand, but the shape is ergonomic enough. Definetely not something you can fit in your pocket anymore. No snapping is necessary, you just slide it under the 3DS and it uses the infra-red sensor to do it's business.
As for the game itself, it's wonderful. I liked RE5 despite all it's shortcomings, but Rev plays much more like a combination of 1 and 4. Best of all, any companions that are with you can't die, don't use items, don't share ammo and are meatshields if you can get them in front. Although it defeats a lot of the tension from the game.

I picked up the circle pad and game today. I couldn't believe how big it was tbh. I haven't tried it yet.
It is pretty damn ugly but probably a necessary add on until the refresh sometime in the near future. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Played the game for a few hours with the circle pad pro. I can't believe how good the graphics and pad work. The demo was nice but the game itself, mainly the opening, is incredible and I can't believe it's on the 3DS. It really shows how awesome future titles could be. The 3D is incredible as well, it's really nice to see developers finally getting the hang of this and not straining the hell out of our eyes.
It's a really nice mix of RE4 and RE2.
Circle pad is feel actually great. It's big and fits nicely. It makes the game feel more more natural (I played the demo quite a bit with traditional controls). _________________ Shin J Leon.

Did anyone go into RE's options and turn 3d on 'very strong' 3D then is crazy! Eyes dying though.
Really liking it. But sorry Circle pad to me feels still like its operating like the face buttons on the DS, i can't seem to get an angle direction very well, its more still up, down left and right.
Loving it besides that, would prefer to stay on the boat that get thrown around to the other parts, but oh well enjoying it so far. _________________ http://bencadphotography.com/

Only played a short time with it last night, but I'm loving it so far. The circle pad really should have been built into the 3DS from the get go, but that aside, it's an effective piece of kit. Feels comfortable and opens the game out to better aiming and control, I could feel the difference instantly.
I'm really impressed by Capcom's use of the 3D effect too, I was rather surprised by that given the track record of most 3rd party titles so far. Good to know there are developers outside of Nintendo willing to put the effort into it.

Dodging is simply timing. You can mash the up or down+b in hopes of a dodge, and it works about 60% of the time on normal oozes, but you should use the weak enemies as practice. Listen for the vocal cue of an enemy about to attack (usually a growl of some sort), and then press and hold up or down+b if you want to do a pivot dodge.
Finished it on hell difficulty, unlocked the unlimited Rocket Launcher. Working my way through Raid Mode. The online is fantastic. For some reason there is some slight lag when doing Raid mode solo, but when tag teaming it online, there isn't any. Plus achievements (missions) and extra weapons/weapon kits galore in Raid mode!
