I don't see what the problem is. If you have DLC to release from the Japanese version, then why not release it? The game has been released in Japan since mid-December, it's not like that isn't long enough to see some genuine (not stripped from the game) DLC releases.
Edit: Jaded gamers are jaded, I guess. You can claim that every piece of DLC is something that was stripped from any given game, but for anything more major than some extra costumes or music, I'd like to believe otherwise. I mean, what evidence is there? I'll say that I'm not too impressed when I see paid DLC that is just a 100KB download, but I haven't come across any significant amount of it (excluding costumes, where it doesn't surprise me). Have you ever considered that perhaps companies are actually trying to deliver some new content that they've just developed for the fans? I guess people are too cynical for that these days. _________________

Step 1: Make the game
Step 2: Remove 20% of said game
Step 3: Convert 20% of game into dlc
Step 4: fans happy!!!!
Step 5: Profit!
Edit:I would edit 4 times but its not my style LOL. Jaded games no just smart buyers none fanboys if you will. You also claim its not striped away from the game again what proof do have other than fanboy.... Trust me man you know i was a massive sqaure enix fanboy but FFXIII left a bad taste in the mouth and with talk about dlc a week after *shudders* _________________

However, the main reason why we're seeing DLC a week after is because that also happens to be the release date for the Japanese version as well. It's not like this is old DLC from the time that FFXIII-2 was released in Japan that SE are just throwing at us. This is brand new content, just being released in Japan for the first time as well. I don't see why we should complain about getting it at the same time that Japan does. The DLC is going for 300 yen in Japan, which is about $4 AUD. _________________

The main reason why im not getting the game is because they are releasing characters as dlc in a story based game. You might blindly accept it but not me... This is where i will take my leave. _________________

"The most disappointing element of Final Fantasy XIII-2 is, believe it or not, the casino, which as of the moment boasts a single slot machine, chocobo races, a mystic, and a bunch of stuff that's "coming soon." The casino isn't relevant to the core game and certainly lends itself to DLC, but for it to be so shockingly bare from the beginning is inexcusable."

Square-Enix is going to milk this for all its worth, but yeah - its the character stories missing DLC that is making me wait for a price drop / complete edition...... _________________

Good-Bye.
Opinions are like buttholes. Everybody has their own. Ad might be "blindly accepting it (his view)" but the same can said that you might be "blindly accepting it (your view)".
----
On topic, there is bound to be some translating errors due to implied context in the Jpn script. Not sure if I mentioned this before but this is a post in gamefaq regarding Serah referring Snow as "good friend".
| Quote: |
This topic came up before when the trailer was release earlier.
This is an example where the translation is done wrongly. In the Japanese version, the word Serah used is "Daiji-na hito". That term can be translated as both "Good friend" as well as "Important person", "a person dear to me". The latter is when the subject person is someone very close, intimate and family.
In this context, we know she is referring to Snow and with Snow and Serah relationship, the term is implied and should be translated as someone important and dear to her, not "Good Friend".

So you're criticising SE under the assumption that there'll be casino DLC? _________________

A few bits and pieces of information regarding the Final Fantasy XIII-2 Ultimania Guides have surfaced including the exact weight of these books. Both books weighed on a scale together comes out to about 1.6KG. Ultimania guide books usually come with interviews from the developers of the game, these are no different.
Director Motomu Toriyama and Producer Yoshinori Kitase mention and refer to Noel & Serah's journey as the "Noel & Serah Volume." We can also expect a Lightning Volume, a Snow Volume, a Sazh Volume, and more. These other volumes do not necessarilly mean they will be downloadable content as they pointed out that they could come in different forms like novels.

You'd think they would be trying to *win* customers back after two pretty bad showings with 13/14. But no, they are milking the hell out of this title. Shame. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Heh, those Japanese fellows do waffle on a bit, don't they.
I created my own guidebook which, when weighed on my scale, totaled a mere 6 grams.
