Not really, it made a lot of good points. Games are a sore point for me (and accessories). They really need to be a lot cheaper (3DS too). Shouldn't be paying near $70 for a portable title.

Portability is another massive thing. Like the 3DS or Vita have awful battery and portability. I know personally I wouldn't bother playing these types of games on public transport as my iPhone does 1) movies 2) music 3) quick fun games so much better and way more accessible. It's also a phone as well.

$350 is an OK price for the unit but a game + mem card makes it pretty steep. Looking at least $450-500.

No, I think I'll wait for the almost guaranteed price drop. It's going to do as badly as the 3DS, if not worse.

Sony's track record of quality doesn't instill me with condifence. Dead pixels, dead PS3s and the like always make me buy local for the unit. Game and accesories sure, but it looks like the new wave of online passes will clean that up pretty quickly anyway.

Pretty much talked me out of buying a Vita until a price drop.

I must have some female in me too because I've kinda overdosed on Vita news, and since Sony aren't exactly forthcoming on details at the moment I'm a bit over it.

Happy to own a Memory Card and 2 games for a system I don't own until there is a good price or something I guess. I don't NEED to get it on launch day.

Time will tell. K-Mart/Target better do something awesome...

For Courier delivery it's $21.99 PER shipment and $2.99 per game after that.

I cancelled my order and made a new one. This time with Wipeout and Hot Shots Golf.

Overall I'm paying $7.38 per game to have it courier shipped to Australia.

EDIT:

Just quickly worked out how ordering more games makes the postage get cheaper per item. Eventually it will level out. Goes to show you're better off ordering as much as you can, but not everyone is made of money. I had a $80 giftcard which helped.

Code:
5 Games - $7.38 Per Game
6 Games - $6.65 Per Game
7 Games- $6.13 Per Game
8 Games- $5.73 Per Game
9 Games- $5.43 Per Game
10 Games - $5.18 Per Game

With all this in mind I just got onto Amazon Customer Help Chat and got some dude to add Gravity Rush to my overall order. I keep hearing that it isn't getting a Europe retail release and is PSN only so I figure why not add it to my order for only an extra $3 shipping overall and I end up getting the game for minimum $40 bucks?

It's the first game that caught my eye on the Vita and Famitsu did give it 38/40. Only unfortunate thing is Amazon reckon it isn't due out until May. Hopefully I don't have to wait so long icon_smile.gif

Has anyone else noticed that the wow pre-order page has stated you get a 5 foot OLED screen?

Now that's one big ass screen for a hand held.

I hope no one was looking forward to transferring their UMD games to the Vita.

Well, at least that's something... Pretty lame news though, not that I was really planning to make use of the service, my plan has been to hang onto my PSP from the start.

Now that I think of it though, Sony only said that they're not bringing it to North America. There may still be hope for us.

Re: the game preorder, whirlpool chatter mentions a trade in offer where they will give you $30 for trade in of RR. There are no more preorder bonus packs being given out anymore though. I should have ordered earlier.

Rumour has it that the console will hit $278 at certain stores on launch weekend.

Actually, I'm heading to Big W this weekend to see my old co-workers, so I reckon I'll pop into my ol' Home Ent section and get them to see what their system says on prices.

Having worked in the Home Ent section of Big W for almost two years before leaving, including opening the day of the 3DS launch, I won't be. At the very least, $299 is a given.

$299 at Kmart/Target and $278 at Big W would be pretty standard and I fully expect it knowing their business practices.

Edit: Kmart had the 3DS at $288 on launch day and I know that my work, at the very least, dropped their price to below that to beat them. Was around $280.
