Does anyone else use the personalised TV guide on tvguide.com.au? (a.k.a. tvfix.com.au, a.k.a. yourtv.com.au)
It hasn't been working for days now and it's starting to piss me off big time. I'd like to know if it's just happening to me or if it's actually down.

It's a guyfawkes mask, anonymous started using them in protests after the V for Vendetta movie.
Not sure where that exact image came from but you can find heaps just searching for guyfawkes mask protests or anonymous protests, chanology etc.
Basic back story is that 4chan started protests against Scientology, then realised that scientology is notorious for getting legal on anyone that speaks up against them so they all decided to go masked to protect themselves and took up the guyfawkes mask as a symbol for themselves. _________________

So tomorrow I'm going to buy one of these
http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/42/100/42/HTP-071/index.html
It says that it has
4 x HDMI (switcher)
• 2 x Composite in
• 1 x Coaxial
• 1 x Digital Optical
• Multi-channel (5.1)
• 1 x HDMI out
• 1 x Composite out
So I know my PS3 can connect to it, but how do my Wii/PS2 that use component? _________________

The Virtual Console games aren't released with any kind of regularity in of themselves. The Wii Shop itself is generally updated every Thursday at midnight/Friday morning with something, whether it's a demo or a WiiWare game or sometimes even a VC game. _________________

Soon when I move out, I will be with an ISP that does not provide free webhost but I have a site that needs a home.
I currently have a portfolio website and it needs a new home but it isn't a core to a business or something, it was a project to develop web development skills (because my university kept cancelling programming units due to lack of interest) and I later decided to give it a presence on the web. Future features include blogging to provide tips for female university students with working in the ICT industry.
Just recently put myself in a home loan, money will become tight very soon and I wish to not having to spend on a webhost if possible.
Are the free webhost "safe"? (to me, free sounds too good to be true). I am looking at Tumblr and apparently it is customisable, can I use the free to do blogging and have pages for my project portfolio and other info?
This may sound silly but I don't know why part of me wants a webhost. I suppose it is because at work, I maintain a Linux and multiple windows servers, I just somehow can't thinking myself into a non-webhost alternative to my problem. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

There's plenty of computer stores to pick from. You can search them all at once using www.staticice.com.au

If you want a blog there's Tumblr, Wordpress, LiveJournal, etc. Loads to pick from.
If you just need to host static files, try grabbing a free DropBox account and sticking them in your public folder. You can use tinyurl, goo.gl or some other name shortener to give it a shorter (and in some cases nicer) URL too.
If you need dynamic web hosting (PHP, JSP, etc). There's plenty of free webhosts around. I'd be inclined to set up a (1 year) free Amazon web service account though, giving you root access to a VM. After the year you need to start paying, as well as if you overrun any disk/bandwidth allowances. Could be bad if your profile gets slashdotted I guess. _________________

I would suggest Google App Engine. Somethings are very nice to work with and you would easily fit within the free tier. We use GAE and AWS at work, and for smaller projects I definitely recommend GAE. _________________

I recommend this, it's not quite free but at less than $40 for two years it's as-good-as. I've been with them for about two years now over a couple of different sites and have found their customer service responsive and knowledgeable. _________________

Thanks grim-one, DeathFalcon and Jedi_Amara . Still hit a mental block though, probably just need to take a rest from thinking too much.
grim-one - I can't live without dropbox, I use it to sync sample codes I do at home to my work computer . Currently the website is just HTML, CSS and JavaScript (jQuery) but I might separate the blog for now.
For Google App Engine, I will have to read away! Looks like this will solve my other problem of possibly doing webapps without paying for webhost.
Under $40 for web-host is tempting, especially when I might want to do web dev outside work. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"
