Has that even been confirmed though? Other than this vague mention in the thread, I haven't seen it written or said anywhere.
As for this Lightning DLC, I wonder how much of it is true? _________________

Well given that the FFXIII-3 website has been registered, I guess it seems likely there will be another game. I'm sure the versus crowd will be howling with fury when that gets pushed back further in favour of this.

I'll be in that crowd.
I'd rather just DLC to finish it off to be honest. _________________

| Quote: | “There is more DLC items coming that we’ll reveal when the time is appropriate,” producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed during a video posted on the Square Enix Blog.
“We’re not just planning boss battles or costumes but also planning episodic DLC items that will hopefully expand on the universe and the gameplay for Final Fantasy XIII-2.”
Famitsu leaks yesterday claimed Square Enix plans to release “secret story” missions DLC, possibly including some focusing on Lightning, the protagonist of Final Fantasy XIII, much loved by fans but with a backseat role in the sequel.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 releases on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 31 in the US, and February 3 in Europe. Watch the full interview with Kitase below. |

So, they're trying to better XIII by releasing an incomplete game?
I get that it may be "extra content" but why don't they just focus on making a better game than tacking on all this dlc.
I'm actually quite anticipating XIII-2 but it's as if Square-Enix want to ruin my experience.

I know ozgameshop.com is cheap, not sure if it's the cheapest though.

Okay, i've been searching the web for the last few 30 minutes or so.
And by far the cheapest is dvd.co.uk as they remove the VAT so it will come to under $50 posted _________________

They don't accept Paypal . Mightyape is New Zealand based so the game may arrive sooner if it actually ships on the 2nd. I emailed them and they said that it may or may not ship on the 2nd, it depends when the stock gets to their warehouse.

IGN released thier review today.
Final Fantasy XIII received an 8.9 from IGN
Final Fantasy XIII-2 only received an 8 from them. (much to the outcry from fans thinking that this game was going to at least get a 9.5)
They said even though its better than XIII mechanically, the story was god awful and even worse than XIII. Also they essentially confirmed the japanese reviewers that said the game doesnt finish with a conclusion, but rather leaves the player very dissapointed by its lack of an ending.
So the game is full price, but its unfinished and to give it more depth you are required to buy all the DLC, which sounds to be considerable and even then you will need to buy Final Fantasy XIII-3 to get a conclusion.
do the fans of the Square-Enix versions of FF still think that the Final Fantasy name is being given the honor it deserves? Or are SE revealing that like every other money grubbing company out there are just milking the name for all its worth and destroying a series that once delivered a quality experience? Cant wait to find out what the concensus in the western world is after a month.(doesnt take long to finish the game) We know what the Japanese thought of the game.

IMHO i have given up in Square-Enix. For me personally the last good final fantasy game was X.... Times they are changing.

For me, it's long past the point where I care about reviews. People always tend to hate or try to find the smallest issues with the new big releases just to be different from everyone else, but meh, I'll play it for myself, THEN judge it. _________________

I couldn't agree more! As for the game being unfinished, I think that's a silly thing to say. It's clear that SE are planning to make a trilogy out of FFXIII, and what trilogy ends with the second game? For example, would you call Mass Effect 2 an unfinished game? I don't think you'd catch anyone saying that.
TL;DR - FFXIII-2 is no more unfinished than Mass Effect 2. _________________
