This year. icon_smile.gif As for the new anime season, looks about as good as usual to me. The movies are a bit sucky, but I don't really watch them anyway.

At NZ atm, so I'll have to wait till I get back to watch anime but as for the movies, I'm looking forward to the Steins;Gate movie and Gundam Unicorn OVA 5 (big Gundam fan over here!)

So Studio Ghibli's Arrietty is gonna be released in the cinemas here this week, then I found out that the movie just came out on blu-ray in UK, so I think I'll just order that instead of watching it on the big screen (which I think will be dubbed).

I think some cinemas are showing it subbed, and some are showing it dubbed.

If its anything like Ponyo, they'll do both. Interesting thing about Arrietty, They have Two seperate Dubs for the UK and the US releases. I think the one we are getting is the US Dub.

I just ordered the Arrietty dvd/bluray combo + postcards set from amazon.co.uk I figured it's cheaper than watching it at a cinema and more convenient =p

Isn't it the borrowers? Doesn't really surprise me then it is a pretty classic British kids story.

I got that from Amazon UK as well. Very surprised that it checked out to be £14.16 and not £16.99 as listed. I played around with some other items and it seems like we Aussies get like ~17% off CDs and Blu-rays/DVDs, but not books. Does anyone have more info regarding this? I'm curious.

As an aside, Arrietty is probably the best Ghibli film since Spirited Away.

Honestly, Earthsea is better than Ponyo. (I didn't like Ponyo all that much.)

Watched Arrietty at the movies this morning. They were only showing the dub but it was done very well. The movie was great too, best Ghibli film since Spirited Away in my opinion. Definitely worth watching on the big screen and it supports Madman distributing the movie.

Went and saw it this morning, the Cinema I went to was showing both the Subbed and Dubbed releases. I watched it Subbed. Very cool film, enjoyed it alot more then some of they're recent releases.
There was a kid in the cinema, couldn't have been over 5 years old. Sit's down right behind me. Surprisingly , kid apparently can read subs, cause all the anime she watches at home are subbed.

I have finally started watching Naruto.

For years, a couple of friends have been nagging at me to watch the show, and while I was always interested in it, I just didn't have the time to catch up on all of the episodes. Now that I actually do have some free time before Uni, I decided to make the most of it. I've been marathoning it over the last four or five days and am currently up to episode 100. Overall impression: It's pretty fucking cool to be honest.

I've been enjoying myself the whole way through. It started off solid and gradually built up in scale. I like most of the characters and the antagonists have been pretty cool. There were a few moments where Naruto annoyed me for being overly idiotic and oblivious to everything, but he seems a little bit better at this point.

Anyway, said friends have told me that it isn't worth watching episode 136-220 (apart from episodes 141,142, 146 and 220 as they have canon material in them) as they are all filler. I'm not really a fan of the bleach filler so I'm leaning towards skipping them and jumping straight into Shippuden.

On an aside, it's really annoying that I've spoiled myself three times since I started watching the show. I browse a Bleach forum occasionally and people just seem to blurt shit out there. Anyway, the first thing I spoiled was that Sasuke joins Orochimaru. The next two are either Shippuden or manga spoilers, so BEWARE. Number two is that Pain is killed by Naruto and the last was somebody asking whether or not Naruto was going to inherit all of Jiraiya's money...which leads me to believe he dies icon_sad.gif

Grr. I'm not browsing that forum again until I catch up.

My advice with watching Naruto, stay the fuck away from filler. It will do you no good to watch it trust me. Back ages ago when i was really upset dbz finally ended, i thought now what the hell will i watch now. That is when i found Naruto to fill the gap and it really did a good job. I hope you enjoy it as much as i am.

Glad you liked Naruto Macka, people tend to hear about it and go 'lol, naruto' but I really love it and as you pointed out, the characters are magnificent.

Unfortunately, like you I've had the damn thing spoiled so many f***ing times I'm surprised theres anything decent left for me to find out

Personally, I watched the filler. Oh boy it was painful at times, but when I finally got to Shippuden it felt so rewarding. And after so much pointless crap it kind of magnified the awesomeness when I reached Shippuden.

I was actually going to make one of the Akatsuki members my dp but I'll wait a few more weeks just to be safe icon_smile.gif
