Alice: Madness Returns looks pretty damn nice running in Eyefinity.
Though it surprised me that it had absolutely no support for it, to the point where it couldn't even scale to a single monitor until I applied a fix (detecting multiple monitors causes the game to spaz out and break for some reason). It is incredible how devs can't apply proper scaling in most games on PC nowadays. _________________

Lots of colour does not equal a good looking game. Application of colour and use of it to cater for your art style is where it's at. Colossus is beautiful because it's designed to bring out a sense of solitude and calm in which it does stupidly well at that. It's bleak because that's what it's meant to be. KZ2 is the same, especially considering that it was based on a world that is largely saturated with plasma and dust storms and is mostly barren.
You can have a shitload of colour in your game but it doesn't make your game look good if you don't use it right.
Also, most people jump on the "TOO BROWN" bandwagon because it's cool. Most of those people are stupid. _________________

The whole 'too brown' thing comes from more games than I can count trying to do the whole "herp derp brutal realistic real life" thing with the colour palette, which consists of smearing poo and urine across the screen, going overboard with DOF and motion blur, and generally butchering the IQ of the game with an over abundance of ugly post processing. In those cases, removing the filters can increase clarity and bring out the colours in a way that doesn't destract from the artistic vision.
But if a game is built for a specific colour palette I usually prefer to keep it that way. In Skyrim's particular case, the environments are designed to look like Arctic tundras and Scandinavian forests. The colour tones are quite accurate to what these places look like. Though ENB and stuff look great, I find the increased colour vibrancy detracts from this original vision. It makes the game look like your typical watercolour fantasy, and that to me looks worse. It would be like trying to bring out the colours in STALKER; it just doesn't work, in my opinion. _________________

RE 4 honestly isn't that brown though. I mean the first third of the game is verry brown yeah, but later in the game it becomes far more grey and blue, like when you're underground fighting the regenerators etc. You're in a lot of areas like this
The colour pallet is subdued, not brown. I think that's a thing a lot of people get confused on. Skyrim again is a pretty subdued colour pallet, but it's not brown. I mean you look at Skyrim and a lot of it is pale blues, whites, yellow greens etc. There isn't actually a lot of brown.
The brown complaint is more something that people started with when we were getting like nothing but WW 2 shooters that were just overwhelmingly brown. _________________

Some screenies from the first 30 mins of Trine 2... totally one of the most beautiful games I've ever played, I'm just not a big fan of the overuse of contrasting colours sometimes, it can quickly turn gorgeous into an eye sore. For example red and black are great contrasts but throw in some green blue and orange and it just looks a mess. In general though its sooo pretty.
and here's one that I like too much to just resize but I'm not going to display it in its full resolution because I am still opposed to too much screen stretching Anyway, this could make a great desktop wallpaper

^ In answer to your question I'm on maxed graphics detail with "extreme" FXAA + 4x super sampling, in 1920x1080. Plays very well! I actually like that its GPU intensive because my CPU is kind of dated and is usually my bottleneck.

People say this game doesn't look good, I disagree. I think it looks quite nice. It's a lot of fun too!

More Sins of a Solar Empire, this time with a fleet of over 1300 firing lasers fucking everywhere.
The game works really well in panoramics, as its scale complements such a large resolution. _________________

This actually looks impressively good. Not to mention it has real time shadows in first person, which is quite rare. Love it!
