Bought the game this morning, played a few hours so far.
Soooooo good. The level design and gameplay is so nice. It has a very tight super meat boy feel to it but doesn't contain the frustration, as it's more designed around precision and graceful movement rather than masochism and insane timing. Also you can't really die, and there are checkpoints all over if you're not the perfectionist type.
It's also kinda funny that in the past few hours I've been playing, I have literally only played 4 levels, and that includes the tutorial. The hours were spent perfecting the actual run itself by doing it over and over and over again to a point where I'm happy with my times, and competing on leaderboards is addictive as hell.
Currently though I'm in the top 10-20 in all the maps I've completed worldwide. Yeeeee.
I highly recommend this. _________________

Sounds good, and the positive reviews are starting to pour in. I may have to check this out. _________________

I played a couple of levels this morning before work. Really reminds me of N. That's a good thing.
I think I'll have to try my gamepad with it though. Default keyboard mappings are a little crazy for me. _________________

I much prefer KB honestly, as it translates into digital very well.
The game is slowly starting to become a speedrun obsession. It genuinely feels like Quake 3 style defrag movement in 2D form. _________________

So I've been playing around with the control mappings trying to find something more comfortable. I've settled on mapping up and jump to the same button. I don't know if this is going to handicap me in the long run but it feels so much better.
Jumping only seems to take place when you initially press the button (positive edge) while roof-clinging and wall-running both happen while you hold the button. So running up a wall is a matter of pressing up as you hit the wall. Jumping off the wall requires you to let go of the button and press it again. Clinging onto a ceiling just means you hold the jump button after you hit the ceiling. I managed to finish a few more levels like this _________________

It won't cause you any grief unless you're speed running, as in narrow sections with a lot of ceilings you need them seperate to make sure ceiling grabs don't slow you down. Otherwise that's pretty cool you can bind to the same key.
Meanwhile someone took over my time on Dusk Run as no.1 by 0.500 seconds exactly. After about 20-30 mins of re-optimising my run, I've taken him down by about 0.420 seconds.
I have a serious addiction to this and it scares me. _________________

Yeah, it's really cool... you'll be playing the ninja persona of Harry Potter. But others find this platformer addicting, which is a surprise to me.
