When I was a kid, my mum used a hairdryer to dry out my waterlogged Coleco Donkey Kong, though I don't suppose such simple, homespun methods would work with todays newfangled technology.
Life was much simpler back then.

yeah i've a little container thing that's used for extracting moisture (sweat) from my hearing aids - air-tight container, silica brick which is re-useable (you bake it in the oven beforehand to dry it out). pop the aids in overnight and it absorbs the moisture.
it could work. depends on how long ago you took it for a swim, as i imagine rusting would be your main concern.

Well it went in the machine on the 31st and Mum gave it to me on the 1st of Jan announcing it went for a swim. I thought the screen was all weird because of cracks so I let it be overnight.
When I woke up, half the "cracks" had disappeared. So then I put it in a container sealed with dry rice.
It's been two days and I checked it and have noticed an improvement, so I think I'll leave it in there a week and check it out.
Glad to know it actually works though, thanks!

So like, I need a job. I've never had or needed one before, so I've no idea htf to go about this. Ofc I'm talking about something casual because I have no experience or qualifications. Been having a look at Seek and Gumtree but I can't really find anything. I've been told to just go into a store and hand out a CV to the randoms there and hope they have something? I feel so awkward.

I haven't hunted for a casual job in years, and I'm sure its changed since then, with the internet probably taking a much greater involvement.
For the larger corporations/franchises (Kmart, Target, Maccas, KFC, Subway etc) I would suggest jumping on their websites. My girlfriends younger brother went job hunting, in terms of going into stores, a while ago and they just directed him to the website, nothing they could do in the store.
For small business type places, going in or a quick phone call would probably be a good option though.

I rekon your best bet would be going to a restraunt/cafe and looking for a waiter position. They're generally pretty easy to get. Just be friendly and do what you're told.

Jobs don't get much easier than being a waiter. When I was 13 or so my parents owned a restaurant, so me and my sister often took peoples orders and delivered food. It was easy, was kinda fun and the tips were actually pretty decent. At least when I was younger

Flash forward a week. The bug reporting system hit some sort of limit, we exceeded the max number of bugs or space. We were told to only report crash bugs, everything else would come later. All non-crash bugs were deleted. It filled again the next day.
Flash forward another week. The original plan may have been too ambitious. We received a revised design doc, this time in a three-ring binder, which laid out a good period-piece GTA clone.
Flash forward another week. We were all reassigned to other projects, while a batch of new testers came in, most just out of high school. They received their design docs: Poorly-Xeroxed and stapled together, outlining a barebones GTA clone with in-engine cutscenes from the original movie interspersed.
Rather than a franchise tent pole cash cow the game was remade a year later and bombed both times, with Metacritic scores hovering in the 60s.
And to this day I long to play the game in that original design doc.

Try submitting a few applications online. Most places do it online now like Woolworths, Coles, fast food places. Of course actually getting an interview is like winning the lottery because so many people do it. The best thing to do is to ask for the manager and give them your resume. I find Seek is more for jobs that require degrees or years of experience.
