I'm after a Zavvi code I can probably trade a Hut code of some kind. I know there's BIGSPENDER but for some reason that only seems to work on some things D: (and it's not preorders I'm trying it on, it's things in stock) _________________

Does anyone have a spare Zavvi code they can spare? Very keen on ordering Dark Souls.
Also, does anyone know the delivery times of this time of year from Zavvi or TheHut? I'm assuming it'll be massive, but y'know. What's everyone's experience of Zavvi as of late? _________________

I've been getting stuff from Zavvi in 2-3 weeks lately. Probably closer to 3. Regular games arriving quicker than limited editions (bigger boxes), but Skyward Sword arrived during the week which was a lot sooner than I expected.
Here's a Hut code which expires today (the 11th): 1869-9LBK-MY5H _________________

I ordered something from Zavvi in early Nov and got the parcel exactly a month later. Usually takes around 2-3 weeks but it's understandable that it'll take a bit longer this time of the year. _________________

My The Hut package arrived exactly 6 days after being dispatched. The other games sent off the same time haven't arrived yet though so I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

I ordered Dark Souls from Zavvi in early December and it was supposedly dispatched on the 13/12. Obviously it's nearly a month later and I understand the Christmas period would have slowed the post down, but after hearing on Whirlpool of several people receiving their items, Dark Souls and otherwise, with some even having them been sent a week and a bit later, I popped Zavvi a quick question as to the wherebouts of my game. They immediately dodged the usual generic stuff and just said they'll give me a refund, and to have it arranged today.
Am I to take their sudden and swift promise for a refund as a sign that they never sent my game in the first place? Or will it perhaps miraculously wind up in the post? _________________

make of this what you will probbly one for the what ticks you off but i orderd uncharted 3 from zavvi in November - it wasint dispatched till the 7th suffice to say a few days ago i received a parcal from zavvi - opened / crushed and a postal irregularity notice ( contents missing ) when i contacted zavvi and i said i would ether like a a replacement or a refund -they asked me to " return it " yadda yadda - i told them based on that conversion alone and the fact that its no longer listed on there web site i would just be asking for a refund
no one deserves to put up with that level of incompetence _________________

I've actually just had this happen with the copy of Saints Row: The Third my girlfriend bought me for my birthday. Sent on the 15th and nothing has shown up, yet the copy of Planet Earth that was sent from Amazon UK on the 28th arrived within 5 days. _________________

Sorry to hear man. Sounds like crap service. If I don't get my item by the end of the week, I'm pretty convinced I won't shop overseas again.
And Vervain, that sucks man. So many people reckon the backlog of post from Christmas and New Years is delaying items posted from early nov-mid december. Here's to hoping our items are potentially in such a backlog... _________________

I bought three items from Zavvi/The Hut on the 26th and I received one a few days ago. The other two haven't turned up yet. If I remember correctly, my copy of Dark Souls took about 35 days to get here and Grim's copy took even longer. My copy was from Zavvi. You will get it but it's just gonna take a while, it tends to happen fairly often.

Just keep it . I'm surprised they offered one so early though, most places need at least 45 days or so.

Last time I was offered a refund they had to mail me a letter to fill out and mail back. Suffice to say the package turned up in the meantime.
But yeah a month and a day or two is my record for postage from there. They use a mail handling company (MHI?), rather than the UK post. I think that explains the difference between them and Amazon. _________________

An update of sorts: one of Zavvi's management team just sent me a self declaration form to fax or post over to them for the refund, and the same guy who has been answering my questions through the website sent me a message, adamant that I should expect my refund via PayPal within 48 hours, yet ignoring my question as to whether or not the item was ever dispatched at all.
I'm just going to fill it out, fax it over (posting it back will take too long) and get my damn money back. I fell for the bargain and unfortunately my luck has been crap as of late, and the item's taking too long to arrive. Their sudden willingness to refund me so quickly after I sent them the original message on the 4th asking for a simple update on the item has also solidified my belief that I probably won't get my Dark Souls. Why would they offer a refund so swiftly now?
I am extremely annoyed, but I know I'm being impatient and irrational as both you and Grim have told me you have received your copies very late. I guess I'm just pissed off that the first time I import properly, it's a crappy, uncertain experience. Well... I can only hope that the Christmas backlog is what has kept my Dark Souls away and that maybe I might get mine in the post as late as you two. It's 4 weeks and counting as of today. _________________

I'd say it'll turn up in the next few days. Zavvi and The Hut are both 100% legit online retailers and I've never had any major problems with them. My parcels always got here eventually.
I think some parcels sit in a German or Swedish depot for a couple of weeks because the parcels that takes ages to arrive have a sticker on them with German or something. Maybe Zavvi source certain games from different countries in Europe hence the delay. It seems to happen to particular games (The Witcher 2 was another one that got delayed ages for many people).

I was under the impression that only pre-orders were diverted to the German and Swedish depots, as many people on Whirlpool said their pre-orders were mailed from such addresses. I guess when I bought Dark Souls it was a sale promotion for the last of their Limited Edition Xbox 360 stock, so perhaps that may be pre-order leftovers and could be coming from those two countries. I hope you're right about that, all I can do is wait really. _________________

I wouldn't worry about it. 4-5 weeks is not an unusual postage time for overseas packages.

Well big update guys: I woke up this morning to find an email saying Zavvi refunded all my money back via PayPal (as well as scoring money on an unrelated Ebay sale, oh yeahhh!), so now I'm left utterly confused. They said they would only refund when I filled in the Self-Declaration form and faxed it over... I haven't even gotten around to it yet and they just processed the refund. They weren't kidding when they said it would be ASAP.
So what am I supposed to take from this swift refund? That they never sent it after all and they realised it? Or that they are not willing to lose a customer? I'm so confused!
And, as always, the postie came and went this morning; but still no parcels with a Dark Soul in it. _________________

I order a copy of the Harry Potter BluRay/DVD collection from Zavvi, Shipped on the 29th of November, Arrived last Thursday. I'd already sent a follow up with them, and they were arranging the refund. When i emailed them to say it had arrived, they said they'd already sent the refund.
They've probably sent it and shits just gotten lost in the mail. _________________
