I still have X-2 sitting in it's case brand new, I might get around to it after completing the HD version of FFX.
VI and VII are my favourites though, with X coming in at third.

The fat lady isn't singing yet though, we're getting conflicting indications from Square-Enix as to whether this will be either a remaster or remake of FFX.
| Quote: | Final Fantasy X Vita, PS3 HD Remake Is Early In Development
The re-release of Final Fantasy X is still early on in development. Final Fantasy XIII-2 -producer Yoshinori Kitase shared this update with German magazine M!Games. Though it is unclear whether he is involved in that development, he thinks he will work on it because he will "ensure that the remake will have the same quality as the original."
It's worth noting Kitase uses the German word "neuauflage," which can be directly translated to "remake," "new edition," or "new issue." |
From what we're hearing, the fact that it's still early in development makes me feel as though it will be a remake rather than an HD port. If nothing else, that's certainly what hoping for, but I guess we'll see.
Edit: Other websites are more confident that it's a remake.
| Quote: | Final Fantasy X Remake Is Not Just A HD Update
Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase has said the PS3 and Vita re-releases of Final Fantasy X aren’t just HD re-masters of the original PS2 release, but rather a “remake”. In an interview with M! Games Via Playstation Lifestyle Kitase said that the project which was revealed at TGS last September was in the early stages of development.
Kitase was a producer for the original FFX, so rest assured that the games magic will be preserved for the remake. I’m actually both happy and astounded that they are doing this, as it’s the first Final Fantasy game I really fell in love with. I know most people would love a Final Fantasy VII remake, but perhaps this is one further step in that direction (assuming it has the chance of ever happening). |

Vita re-releases ? they cant be a a simple cash grab then i mean it will be on PSN ? i would see lil point in flooding the market with physical vita games that are cash ins that being said it could easliy be that someone tripped on there translation notes _________________

They are building up the VII remake. I think they are waiting for us to burst and then give it to us. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Well I'll definitely get this for the Vita, especially if they're re-doing the graphics and what not for HD standards.
I really enjoyed playing FFX, didn't really like the Tidus character so much but Yuna was cool and the story was pretty cool too. Wonder if they'll follow it up and give the same treatment for FFX-2, but I guess that would mostly depend on how well FFX does sales wise.
Anyway here's an incentive for FFX-2.

To PS3 this, or Vita this, that'll be my only question - and hope the answer isn't Buy Both.
This is still the only FF I ever finished, so really looking forward to this. _________________

I plan to get it for PS3, FFX will always be a console game to me. I really hope we get to see some screenshots and proper info soon. _________________

I'm hoping they do some sort of Metal Gear Solid 'Transfarring' thing with this game. You know... buy one game, have it for both systems. They probably wont do it the money hungry bastards but here's hoping. _________________

I'd like to see some sort of double pack with the Vita and PS3 version. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few devs/publishers take this route. _________________

Yeah, definitely a console experience. I'd hate to be stuck between Save Spheres at the end of my train trip, or in the middle of a lengthy boss battle.

Be nice if they had cloud cross-platform gamesave support between PS3 and Vita. It would be such a nice feature if you could play both titles at the same state across platforms.
Why don't they do this? It like makes awesome sense for a 'portable' console experience to offer this. _________________ Shin J Leon.

There's a few games that will be making use of that functionality. Ruin is one of them. _________________

I wish SE would make up their mind about this...
| Quote: | Final Fantasy X Will Be an HD Remaster…Not a Full-Fledged Remake
Yay or nay? Last year Square-Enix announced that they would be re-releasing Final Fantasy X in HD and it left a lot of people scratching their heads. Will it be a remastered version like the God of War Collection or a full-fledged remake like Halo: Anniversary?
While the answer still remains in a cloud of mystery, Square-Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto definitely made it sound like it was going the HD Remaster route.
He did an interview at the Taipei Game Show where he was asked whether or not the game will be a remake or HD Remaster, he simply replied “HD Remastered.”
This of course, isn’t a confirmation made public by Square-Enix as a company, but it does raise more questions. We just have to wait until the company makes an official announcement. The game will be releasing for both the PS3 and PS Vita. I would much prefer a full remake, but Final Fantasy X was a gorgeous game so maybe an HD Remaster isn’t so bad in the long run. |
