Bought that in a buy 2 get 1 free from JB, still haven't installed it but as with many pics in this thread, it makes me want to play it
Got an email reminding me this will now longer be free to play in a couple days. I just hope one day it will be worth paying for.

I really didn't mind my time spent with FFXIV during the beta. It was a mess but the music, world and characters were pretty fun.

Yeah it's not terrible.
It actually made we want to play this... and I gotta say, it's nice to have an RPG like this in 1080p. Really enjoying my gaming since switching from console.

I think the biggest complaint with The Last Remnant was the performance problems on the 360 version. Does the PC version run pretty well?

Ah man if only I didn't have a bad back and could actually sit down to play mmo's again. Or if they had decent controller support (i know, i know)

Well my PC has broke, and I'm going to take it to get it fixed tomorrow because I can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is! In the meantime I'm using my netbook, which I only bought for internet and MS Word and which can't play any games later than about 1999 But I'm using that opportunity to play some old games some of which helped get me into gaming when I was young. First on the list: Age of Empires 2!
I am absolutely terrible at this game as I am with all strategy games so my thoughts on whether its still good or not arent really relevant, but theres a lot of memories in this for me. My dad used to play AOE1 and I used to watch him and really liked how he could order all the little people around and make them do stuff Then he got AOE2 and for the first time I had a few goes. It didn't really grab me and make me play more games at the time, but it was basically the first game I ever played!! So its a nice little revisit.

I played the 360 version, and the lousy performance was only part of the reason I didn't like it. I found the game and story itself to be pretty weak. Good to hear that it runs better on PC though. _________________

Before:
After:
I quite like the difference, it's so much more vibrant (it looks quite a bit different in game, so this pictures doesn't quite show the difference). The standard looks extremely washed out, especially in game. Now all I need is to get those HD textures working. I love PC gaming

I really like the washed out look of Skyrim. I've tried the ENB mod and some of the custom profiles, and I don't like the change at all. The colours look blown out in my opinion, and lack the drab, dreary Nordic mountain forest look the game normally has. The real money is forcing transparency AA, SSAO, and tweaking the ini to increase grid size and general rendering quality.
I'm still tweaking, but I like what I see. Click for big.

Those Skyrim pics look real good. I too prefer the original look. Don't see a point in making it all fluro-like.
On to a game I always disagreed with the reviews on, especially when it comes to the controls which are more than fine. Played it originally on console but it looks so nice in DX11 mode! (Will get some gameplay pics later on)
I've gone back to using FRAPS too, the screenshot function in Steam (F12) seems to compress too much. _________________ My YouTube game videos!

Lost Planet 2 is great fun with a few mates. I'm not a fan of the 'grind to unlock' stuff that kicks in later though. That started well after enjoying the campaigns the first time through though. =)
I've currently been enjoying Sword & Sworcery on my iPhone. It's hard to tell from the screenshots but this is a lovely looking pixel art game.

There are moments in this game that look absolutely amazing. Where it looks better than anything else I've played.

Yet we all love Resident Evil 4, which had approximately the same colour palette as Quake 1 did. *shrug* _________________

Surely it depends on the game. Sometimes colourful doesn't suit a setting... We all go on about how we want a better colour palette in our games and for the most part I agree but if all games we're colourful we'd be complaining asking for darker more grittier games. Better to just have more of a balance.
And for the record we don't all love Resident Evil 4 *points to self* I think the last two major games have been third person shooters trying desperately not to be third person shooters
Next on my list of old games is Broken Sword 2
Well the only way this game has aged is in the screen resolution. Everything else, gameplay, humour, art style, music, is still amazing. J'adore this game <3

No I'm pretty sure 99% of gamers hate brown as a shortcut for realism. There's a massive difference.
The brown in skyrim (Wich honestly there isn't that much of,the game is more green then anything, just not bright) serves a point.
Skyrim is aiming for that barren hard to live in scandanavian tundra look.
It hits pretty damm close. _________________
