Dota 2 is a game called Defence of the Ancients 2, it's a sequel to a game called Defence of the Ancients.

I am familiar with Dota, I wasn't aware DOTA 2 was even a winnable prize..let alone the screencap of someone on reddit winning skyrim.. Tempted to go buy some of those $3-5 games and do the achievements now..

Well DOTA2 is listed on steam's store, is in public beta and Steam keeps sending out update notices for it. I'd say it's fair enough to win access to the beta and full game when releaed. Plus it's a Valve title, so they don't have to play by the same rules.

It's $2.50, you may as well. I have all three Stalker games sitting on my Steam account waiting for me to pluck up the courage to play them. I love open world games but am not a fan of scary stuff. But the critical acclaim around these titles was so strong that I grabbed them all when they were on sale.
Also as somebody fairly new to PC gaming I can quite rightly say that these pack deals are moderately insane. Next year I have half a mind to just buy a couple of packs in December and that would quite easily last me another 12 months.
