They're only valid after this sale ends for a couple of months, which is kind of useless given Nail'd is 66% off in the sale

Same for me, I'm thinking maybe those ones we won't get anything till the next day. Like they'll base what they give off how many others get the achievement as well?

I just logged into my wife's account. She got the gift immediately (coal + 25% off Valve game). Which I then traded to my account ;D
So yeah no restart required. You guys are logged in and went through the 'Get Started' link right? Does the 'achievement' show as triggered on the giveaway page?

Yep it shows that i've done it with the picture of the unwrapped present and everything, it also says "two objectives completed so far" the first one being the free gift at the start. But when I click "view your steam inventory" it shows just the first gift

Apparently the 7 coals will just turn into a random item, including vouchers, it would suck to save up 7 then get a 10% of Valve or something.

But it said something about the more coal you have, the more of a chance you have to win at the end or something? Meaning you'd have to do it manually. Also, doesn't it say that after combining 7 coal, you'll no longer get coal?

I would prefer to take my chances on the 7 coals then my chances of having 7 entries in the 'grand giveaway'.
Also I am pretty sure that the whole no more coal thing is referring to when you forge 7 coals you wont just win a single coal in return.

Agreed. Also, I received two presents from getting one achievement as well, so it's certainly not an impossible picture. I have my doubts that Skyrim is a real prize though.

OK.. so I just did a couple more achievements... so I got as far as 33% off valve, 50% off virtua tennis 4, and 7 coal.. Just crafted the 7 coal and got.. 10% off GSC Games... I'm really having no luck at all here

Not quite a Steam specific Christmas deal, but Amazon is selling Total War: Shogun 2 for a measily US$7.49. Just head here and check out using a credit card and US billing address (I used a gift card). Then go to your list of games and codes, and enter the game's code in Steam. Bam, you now have Steam Shogun 2.
