Ah damn.

I tend to quick save ahead of any major fight, and create a new save every time I leave the game. Got upwards of 50 saves to revert to should I want to.

I used to make a new save for every save. But that just started to lag when going into the save/load screen, so I deleted 300 or so saves and now I just use about 10 for each character.

I have 170 saves. I really should start deleting some. 90 hours into my main and finally reached level 50. The Brotherhood questline was probably the best in the game, but I have just started The Thieves Guild and it's looking promising. High level stealth is pretty cool.

Gf is 83 hours in and has almost 2000 saves so far. She saves like every 5 minutes or something.

Meanwhile I have like...12 after 130+ hours.

I have the save right from the very beginning, one main save that I save every time I am about to exit the game. 1 quicksave that I overwrite before fights or whenever I feel like I need to.. there seems to be about 3 or 4 autosave files in there that I haven't created... I'm someone who is ok with the decisions I make during the game. If I stuff it up so I can't complete something for a Steam achievement, I can live with that as long as I enjoy the game. In fact I have felt ok about more decisions than I normally would in most games.. even killing named NPCs and getting on the bad side of people..

Have you checked if Sinding is still there? A lot of people have reported going back well after completing that quest and he was still in the Grotto.

Companions questline is now bugged for me and I am eternally stuck carrying 4 hagraven heads.

^Apparently there's a fix/workaround you can use to continue the quest; read the last paragraph in the bugs section.

Sooo. I 'finished' it last night as in got all trophies except the Oblivion Walker one... I started a new game as a Khajit with a sword and magic hand and it actually feels quite fresh starting all over again.

Haven't tried it out yet, but for PC'ers;
TESV Acceleration Layer - SKSE Plugin
This patch will improve your frame rate by up to 40% in all CPU-dependent situations, i.e. especially in cities.
It works mostly by rewriting some x87 FPU code and inlining a whole ton of useless getter functions along the critical paths because the developers at Bethesda, for some reason, compiled the game without using any of the optimization flags for release builds.

97 hours and I think I am done. Done all questliness, daedric quests and when exploring the world I'm not picking up any named quests any more.

I applied that TESV Acceleration Layer and noticed a sizable increase in performance, especially in the heaviest hit areas. Definitely pick this up guys.
