This is nitpicking: The GBA games tend to look more pixelated due to being scaled to display on the higher resolution screen of the 3DS. Maybe a filter could help in the future

You can start them at original resolution can't you? It's small but I can't imagine it being smaller than the Micro. _________________

You can indeed, just hold select down when you begin the game. (Or maybe its Start and Select) _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

I didn't actually own a GBA back in the day but one of the few games I bought and made use of the DS Phat's backwards compatibility powers was Minish Cap...which it seems almost nobody else played the first time around Still got the original box etc too. Looking forward to getting stuck into a lot of these in any case though, especially the likes of Fire Emblem, Wario and Mario & Yoshi. _________________

Judging by your face buttons Burnz, you've been absolutely smashing your 3DS. What are you playing most?

Hahaha.
The game I've played the most has been The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D.
But that rounding around the edges of the XYAB buttons has always been there, I thought it was a normal thing. _________________

Finally got a 3DS last night. The system is very solid. I'm really impressed with it, and Mario Land is great. I wish there were some more GBA/SNES games on the Nintendo store, but hopefully that will come in time.
Awesome to join the club. I havn't done much with it yet, do you add friends for online play in the future or?
And is it worth joining Club Nintendo?

The system update is really cool for downloading the free GBA games. It doesn't take you back to the store front anymore!
Nintendo club is fine, you can buy some occasional nice stuff on there when available. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Even better than that, by using the sleep mode download you can queue 10 things up and leave it to get on with it. _________________

Now that I've got one, I'm looking forward to see whats coming for it, games wise. They better not release a 3DS Lite soon though.

Considering that stupid stupid Circle Pad Pro attachment and the fact that some major games support it (Resident Evil Revelations and Monster Hunter 3 (and I assume 4 will as well), there will most likely be a lite version soon.
Especially since the Vita just came out in Japan.

I still don't think it will come out 'soon', especially if sales maintain current momentum. A revision is inevitable, but I still think its at the very least a year away, probably more. _________________

For the future, I can see how it will need dual sticks/sliders, and an improved battery life. Unfortunately, I'll buy one so I can play the games that require it. I am not buying that ugly, bulky add on though.

Apparently it's very comfortable and lasts 540 in-game hours on a single AAA. It might look like arse, but I'll be buying it because if how it feels. _________________

Yeah, aren't 3DS's meant to be portable? _________________

Mine doubles as a music player due to the fact I've slapped a 32 gig SD card in it. Now the 3DS barely fits in my pocket and adding that Circle Pad Pro monstrosity means I will have to bring a bag with me and I won't be able to listen to stuff without holding it in my hand the whole time.
They got it right when converting the original DS to the DS lite. I have a niggling feeling that Resident Evil Revelations was always meant to support the 2nd stick, but they wanted to push the console out as fast as possible, so they released a version without it and made it an attachment.

There's the other point Leon. I want to get one of those Nyko battery extenders for it (going to Europe, need as much battery as possible, not that I should have to justify it I guess) which would not work with the cirle pad pro either.

I'm looking forward to the refresh personally. I think the 3DS is a nice unit but has heaps of flaws. They need to boost the battery life and make it more streamline (like the phat -> lite). The 2nd circle pad is guranteed in the refresh as well. Jarrod is right though, you'd think it's at least a year away, probably for next xmas. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I quite like the 3DS as it is, although a refresh including better battery life and a second thumbstick would obviously be nice. I thought the DSLite update was great as it improved the screens considerably from the old DS.

Just about the battery, I disagree that it sucks. I play on the third brightness setting, with wifi usually off, and I once played OoT for 3 hours straight, and it had only lost 1 or 2 bars. My battery seems to last at least 5 hours, with 3D on.
