Was getting a Wii game out of its case to show a customer as it was preowned and the customer just wanted to check it was fine. I was just getting it out at the counter.. A random guy walks up to me, looks me up and down and says "Careful CD's can crack you know"
Thanks random guy.
It was a Wii game. They are so easy.. They just pop out. Not like the new eco-friendly cases that are a bit more trouble. So I don't know why he felt the need to tell me that :l _________________

Really? Even though they got their money at least once? |
In your case they probably wouldn't but I'd still go through their support system.

I ran into the same problem with my walkman. It was my fault as I did not read about the JP Post restrictions and I was so lost on what to do. Luckily, a friend of a friend is coming to melbourne for a visit and he agreed to bring it along with him on his way down. Had to have a few emails to and fro to get the package re-directed but was glad that was over. Shortly after I got it, that restriction was lifted. |
It seems they have those restrictions back in place. Japan Post will now only ship lithium batteries apart from button cells/watch batteries to a small number of countries, not including Australia, and only by seamail. I ran into this problem since I've bought a Gameboy Micro from Japan (a colour I couldn't get elsewhere) and it seems now that I cannot get it sent to me with the battery, I have to get it without the battery and get a new battery from somewhere. I don't trust 3rd party ebay batteries _________________

I exploded one the other day at work. I flexed it in one hand and it just shattered and sent shards everywhere. I know now to stick to my stress balls. Lucky it was a just a burnt CD =) _________________

Was with my girlfriend last night on the way to her xmas party when we got robbed. Caught a taxi and were heading to the place when all of a sudden a car in front of us slams on their brakes, 2 guys with guns come out and jump into the taxi (1 in the front and 1 in the back next to my girlfriend) and he starts to drive off. The taxi driver was almost definitely in on it. They make us close our eyes and then start asking us what we have and going through all our pockets to take everything we have. I only had a crappy phone, but my girlfriend got her iPhone stolen...which really really sucks.
They obviously knew I was foreign and started to get a hostile and kept asking where my money was because I only had ~$25 and no wallet (I never carry a wallet just in case of a situation like this) and I had to convince them I had none (which i didn't). Everyone thinks that every American person here is loaded (white skin=person from USA here), but luckily they believed my that I was Australian and I told them Australia doesn't have money (Most people here know NOTHING of Australia aside from Kangaroos). Luckily we didn't have an ATM cards, so they just drove around for ~10 mins, then stopped the car and told us to run and not look back.
Thankfully we are both fine. Scary stuff. _________________

I have.
Twice.
On the same gorram disc.
When I bought season 5 of Buffy, one of the discs completely snapped in half when I was popping it out of the case. Got a replacement, new case and all. Watched it. All was good. Months later, my housemate decided he wanted to watch season 5 again. Got up to the same disc. Snap. So he raced out and bought a replacement. I told him he should have then taken the snapped version back for a refund/new replacement so he could have his own season 5. He didn't.
tl;dr - It happens. _________________

I hate when sealed copies of games/dvd where the disk inside the case popped out.
I would be having lunch and then when looking at the box just to feel that the disk is moving inside the case. Worse when it is a present, will have to open it. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Yeah, it's really annoying when the disc pops out and gets all scratched up. I like PS3/blu-ray discs a lot because the coating means that just doesn't do anything to them. _________________

The disk snapping is, as others have proven, quite possible but incredibly rare.
The demeanor of that customer of yours, Priscilla, shows that they were likely of the mindset that he/she sees something happen once and then they embrace that occurrence as an absolute.
It's not like customers needed to be more obnoxious, but what ya gonna do? _________________

Must resist cheapshot at EB Games managing to scratch blu-ray discs on occasion due to their disc storage methods...

Crysis: It keeps crashing while I'm fighting a giant alien strider thing. I even tried turning the graphics down to low in case it was overloading my system. Still no good. RARGH! _________________

I get this at my work too (Safeway). Some customers are convinced that if they don't double bag two bottles it will certainly break. _________________ My Photos

Guayaquil, Ecuador. I've taken a taxi from that same spot over 30 times. The area we were in isn't really dangerous, we just got unlucky I think.
Christmas tends to bring out the worst in people. For example the charity I work for has to close down operations from the second week of December until the start of January because things get too violent in the sectors around this time. Such a shame. _________________

Minor compared to what has been posted here recently;
1) a whole day of meetings today
2) I had a skip bin at my house for the past week while I remove sand from my backyard. So far I've filled up an 8 cubic metre bin and will require another one. Anyway, so I had my filled bin out the front and some time this weekend a bag full of trash appeared in it. As you may know, skip bin people won't collect household trash, and thus, placed the bag on my lawn. I couldn’t really care less but with Christmas around the corner and the bag being filled and quite heavy, it creates an inconvenience. I have a strong suspicion that the bag belongs to the house up the street who were having a party the other night (the bag was filled with party food and weak pre-mixed bottled drinks) but unfortunately I have no proof. Anyway, I went to their house and spoke to their dad, asking him if he knew who was hosting the party or if he knew anything the bag and as expected, he played dumb and instead pointed the finger to the girls across the road. Anyway, I’m not going to start a witch hunt so that’s where I’ll leave it. Now I have a bin filled with booze and stinky fish fingers.
