I saw Killer 7 and MGS:TS in stores on launch. Didn't buy them. Sucks to be my collection as they're worth quite a bit for PAL copies these days.
Also worth keeping in mind is that Nintendo was the local publisher for a few third party games. But mostly, Nintendo screwed the pooch and made a console that didn't sell strongly in Western markets and didn't push for it to sell well in Western markets and provided devkits that were a royal pain to use and delayed their own products to Western markets and you start seeing that Nintendo really had a large hand in third party games not being released on time/at all for their system.
EDIT: And local distributor for many they don't publish. _________________

Gamecube is my favourite console, hands down. Will not ever get rid of mine.
I enjoyed the crap out of Crash Bandicoot, Windwaker, Luigis Mansion, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Pokemon Colosseum and XD, Sonic Adventure Battle 2, Metroid Prime 1 and 2.
Imo Windwaker, Metroid Prime, Sonic Adventure Battle 2 and Super Smash Bros. Melee are indisputably among the best games of last generation. The PS2 and the Xbox were great consoles too, but there games just didn't have half the impact these 4 did for me.

Oh it was just one of the Crash Bandicoot games most people like to forget about It was the Wrath of Cortex which I remember now is multiplatform.
Even though it was not developed by Naughty Dog I thoroughly enjoyed it, didn't think anything was wrong with it.

start gloat/
I must be one of the lucky few because I have all three PoP games, Beyond Good & Evil, MGS: Twin Snakes, Killer 7, and PN03 (as well as most other worthwhile Cube games). Found most of them secondhand too.
/end gloat
Funnily enough, the Cube PAL version of PoP Sands of Time, while very good, runs at a much lower frame rate than the Xbox version and lacks the progressive scan support of the PS2 version. Warrior Within for me, also had a serious bug which rendered progression impossible. Now I have all PoP last gen games on Cube, Xbox and PS2...
I still play my Gamecube, and although it didn't quite meet expectations software wise, the games that were released are some of the best of the last generation.
