Time for my annual playthrough. If anyone else is being antisocial tonight, I may even set up a co-op server. _________________

Combine the following:
- 2 x Sony PlayStation 1
- 2 x Doom for Sony PlayStation
- 1 x Sony PlayStation 1 system link cable
- 2 x Sony PlayStation 1 RF cable
- 2 x 34cm cathode ray tube television sets (monaural). Sony Trinitron recommended.
- 2 x 2L Coca-Cola
Results: Awesome.
You PC tards are so quaint with your "keyboards" and "servers". Enjoy your plinky-plonky MIDI "music", if it can even be called that. LOL

Pfft whatever dude. You haven't played Doom until you've played it using a d-pad for forward / back / turn left / turn right and shoulder buttons for strafing.

You act as if I've never played the PS1 version.
Good for you. _________________

I am scared of DOOM. Must be because I was scared when I was young and just didn't get over it. It's a game that I just cannot bring myself to play!

More likely, your motion sickness thing. After playing so much Serious Sam 3 lately, it's really noticeable just how fast everything moves in Doom compared to, well, any FPS made in the last 10 years actually.
And the best part? It was without the -turbo command line parameter. It's the slowest speed the game can move at. _________________

Any of the old school games like Quake 1 or Doom make you think modern games are running in slow motion honestly. _________________

Oh wow. That exists?
That's like that time I learnt to not search for Kim Possible at work when I had safesearch off.
EDIT: Impse is also based off some fanfic. And it's made its way in to some well-known-in-the-Doom-community mods. The guy that made the impse gif was responsible for Action DOOM and it's fantastic sequel. I highly recommend the sequel, it's a standalone mod if I recall correctly. _________________

Did this in 97/98 with a mate - we both got our playstations around the same time and often purchased the same games...doom being one of them. System link doom was cool, however too easy to cheat considering the tv's were basically beside each other (one turned around the other way).
Also DooM on the playstation was the first time i experienced motion sickness in a fps on a console. Funny thing is it never happened to me when playing the game previously, however i played it on a bright sunny day (thus it was bright in the room i was playing in). And strangely enough i always retained the same motion sickness feeling when playing the game ever since no matter the playing conditions and how bright or dark the room was (day, night). No such problems on the pc version though.
Playing Doom on the school network was also great fun , 4 player death matches were awesome. Level 24 in DooM II was our ultimate death match map . So awesome, and recording the matches via the command line prompt was also awesome.
Simpsons DooM II is the greatest Total Conversion mod i have ever played, it is just so amazing .

Good for you. |
You act as if you're incapable of reading a couple of obviously not serious throwaway comments without taking them way seriously and then reacting with passive aggression.
