I guess this doesn't really count, but a few years ago I was felling nostalgic but couldn't really afford new Lego, so I built up a library of pieces in 3D to the right scale, and used some of my old manuals to build them exactly as they should be. It's hard to see at such a low res but I even had the LEGO letters on the top of each stud.
Definitely a lot of fun, and a great way to nostalg' without spending $$$. Throw in some lighting and nice textures and its as good as the real thing. The c0ckpit (edit: seriously the spam filter blocks that?) glass was a bit of a fail though, just never went back to fix it.

After our "creativity" purchase last week http://palgn.com.au/viewtopic.php?p=932025&highlight=#932025 I wanted some more pieces to use in game, so purchased some sets (no prizes for noticeing a theme) - but since decided that using extra pieces in tha game is proberbly cheating....so we had a building afternoon.

LEGO MMO closing down http://au.pc.ign.com/articles/121/1211673p1.html
Shame I just dicovered it (after re-discovering lego through mt creationary purchase) and it was fun for the couple of hours I've tried it. Was looking forward to building my home-area. _________________

Not my photo - but go this off ebay ($45ish) - brought for the dragon mainly. My son actually got this set a couple of years ago, but I loved the dragon enough for a purchase for myself... _________________

Well technically it's a Mega Bloks set, but yeah it does take ages to find the right piece amongst thousands =)
Was looking at how much that set costs. It was only released at Blizzcon this year, so eBay is the only choice. Pretty much upwards of $200 on there =\ _________________

Are the Mega Bloks sets alright? I would love to play with some Halo sets, they look fairly decent sized and they're always cheaper than the lego sets but have refrained mainly due to space reasons lol
Also getting more Harry Potter Lego for christmas, they released 3 more sets a couple of months back and I purchased one and am getting the other 2 for christmas/birthday
Love Lego

My experience with the halo sets is no. The bricks don't hold very well. Makes de-construction easy, but too often the models fall apart when they are lifted. _________________

My latest creation.
Started on it in 2009 but never got around to getting more pieces to actually finish it, until recently.

^ Just out of curiosity are all the coloured blocks coloured the hole way through or just the top layer with black behind - weird question i know.
Otherwise you really do inspire me to ditch the instructions and start making some of my own - alas i have to start buying some bulk misc sets of ebay and see what i can come up with

I thought the exact same thing. The good thing about this design is that you can use any blocks you have lying around for most of it, only the top layer and the sides need to be of a certain colour. _________________

Behind the scenes photos? Sure, why not?
That should answer your question.

^ Yeh that's why i was thinking they're all black underneath - it would cost a hell of alot more to have layers of those colourerd block to - for burnz to purchase them i mean.
On a second note i just came across images for "Super Heroes" a new 2012 series coming out feature DC Universe heroes & villains - i think from these images the sets look terrible. Cool minifigs maybe.
There's a few others but these are the best of bad bunch.
There are also bionicle style DC Universe heroes coming like this batman -
- Not sure what's with the half body size bat-a-rang.
Enjoy

Catwoman on the bike with the whip, and some of the rest (that batmobile, pretty sure), are recycled from older Batman sets. I came close to buying the one with the catbike so many times. _________________

The Superman vs Lex Luthor one actually looks pretty cool. Would've preferred that they put Lois Lane in it instead of Wonder Woman though. Might pick that one up if it gets released here (or I can import it for a decent price). _________________

^ Just about to jump on to post to.
Do you reckon they look any good? Surely they can go a bit more large scale then that - I'm excited if there's e a 16+ or something or UCS one - these look a little under done to me - i know video probably doesn't do them justice however.
They also need a set with all of the fellowship minifigs - might be expensive but that'd be worth every penny
